DESTINATIONS

/MAY-JUNE 2018

Spend the afternoon at the Chattahoochee
Nature Center, an interpretive center for
the Chattahoochee River and the oldest
and largest private, nonprofit natural
science learning center in the Southeast.
Admission is only $8 per person for groups
of 15 or more, and there are five wooded
trails and one water-focused one, the River
Boardwalk Trail, for your guests to hike. At
only a half-mile long, the boardwalk offers
an easy and fun way for your group to get
up-close views of wetland habitats and
water and wading birds such as osprey and
great blue herons. Consider offering canoe
rentals as an add-on for people who want to
float down the Chattahoochee River.
Before supper, stop for a free tasting
tour at Oli+Ve, purveyors of flavored and
ultra-premium extra virgin olive oils, as

Custom-Tailored Fun

Depending on the ages and interests of your
group, the next morning in Roswell could
be spent zooming around the high-speed
Superkart track at Andretti Indoor Karting
& Games (open at 11 a.m.) or touring the
Smith Plantation home (c. 1845). At the
latter, history buffs will enjoy visiting the
home and its 10 original outbuildings, all of
which are filled with original furnishings
and artifacts.
Don't leave town without stopping
for a tour and tasting at one of Roswell's
four award-winning craft breweries:
Abbey of the Holy Goats Brewery, Gate
City Brewing Co., Variant Brewing Co.,
and From the Earth Brewing Co. Even
nondrinkers will appreciate learning
about the process and ingredients used to
make local craft brews. Since most of the
breweries don't open until 4 p.m., there will
be time for your group to savor a late lunch
at another of Roswell's foodie-favorite
local restaurants-Peach & the Porkchop,
Table & Main, or Foundation Social Eatery
(closed 2:30 to 5 p.m.).
