Communication is the key to expanding the mission and core values of ACTE. I will continue the excellent work begun in this area through the use of social media, as well as continuing to use what we have come to know as contemporary venues. Communication must be a two-way street. Enhanced and expanded communications efforts will serve to bring new members to NRS. ACTE member recognition is of value in social organizations. As the division vice president of New and Related Services, I would start by learning from my predecessors and then carve out a collaborative agenda for the Division. Utilizing the ACTE strategic plan and technology, I would empower those sections to create a three-year plan of action that would build on the past yet encourage the establishment of new learning communities which would be comprised of individuals possessing strong leadership skills. Membership would consist of advisory committees, industry partnerships, voices from students and parents, local governmental representatives and postsecondary teacher educators—key groups representing ACTE clientele. This new approach would be communicated to build strong collaborative networks. Marketing this plan is key for the success of this diverse Division.
