This activity will explore the importance of pharmacy standardization and the
role pharmacy leadership needs to take to minimize error potential in sterile
compounding. Standardization strategies such as ASHP's "Standardize 4
Safety" initiative program will be discussed, as well as the FDA requirements
for 503A versus 503B sterile compounding operations in health-systems.
