information about the practice, making it fit in with
the content of the show.
Podcasts tend to be more affordable than other marketing strategies. If you have a computer, microphone,
speaker, and interesting topic, you have yourself a great
podcast and marketing tool.
VETTING SOURCES
Social networking and social media sites are exploding: There's Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter,
YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, Snapchat, Vine, and
many, many more. On this new avenue for communication, how do we separate social media fact from
social media fiction?
You should vet an information source, to make sure
that it follows responsible journalistic practices and
takes accuracy seriously. A podcast is like all other
forms of social media; don't believe everything you read
or hear. Just because it's on the internet doesn't make
it factual. There are many fact-checking websites on
the Internet. Some credible fact-checking sites include
Wikipedia.com, Snopes.com, Factcheck.org, Allsides.
com, and OpenSecrets.org. Do your research and find
the one you trust to give you the facts.
If you're wondering about the status of our practice
and whether or not we survived, you'll be glad to know

that we did better than that. With sweat, dedication,
and hard work-we continue to thrive! AE

According to Cision.com, the average podcast lasts
about 30 minutes. Users listen to about 22 minutes per
podcast, and prefer podcasts that last less than 16 minutes.
The average commute time in the U.S. is 25 minutes,
making a 22-minute podcast a good length for commuters. Source: Dougherty, J. (2015, April 6). 7 podcasting
