diversity through customized experiences designed to surface
and break down biases.
The digital team building space is still nascent with only a
handful of solutions and many open implementation questions. But it is clear that team building is critical and that the
demand for technology-driven approaches will only increase
as teams become more distributed, cross-functional, and
collaborative. Keep your eyes on this space as the opportunity
for organizational impact is significant, as is the potential for
innovation. Digital team building is here to stay.

as an effective complement.

Future Opportunities

There are exciting future opportunities to extend the
impact and reach of digital team building. People analytics
is a significant area of focus and growth for organizations,
and there is interest in tying data on team relationships to
business metrics and organizational network analysis. Digital
team building has the potential to surface meaningful
insights about engagement and performance either by using
predictive models or by integrating team data with other
human resources systems.
The digital world can also deliver hyper-personalization
with algorithms to create relevant team building experiences
customized to each team's structure, culture, function, or
industry. There is the potential to provide coaching advice at
scale by digitally delivering actionable, personalized recommendations for improving team dynamics. This type of
solution could take advantage of data on individual personality types and offer tips and guidance for individuals and
managers based on synergies between teammates' personalities. Imagine receiving a notification that you will be the only
extrovert in an upcoming meeting with a tip recommending
that you take the time to listen to colleagues' perspectives
before speaking up. Digital team building tools can also
contribute meaningfully to efforts to improve inclusion and
