MCC WELCOMES AND PROMOTES
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR AND
DISTRICT SALES MANAGERS, SAYS
FAREWELL TO RETIRING EMPLOYEES
MidContinental Chemical Co. Inc.
(MCC) announced the appointment
of Dr. Bernard C. Roell Jr. as technical
director effective at the beginning of
2018. Roell brings with him more
than 20 years of extensive experience
in management and support in the
specialty chemical industry. Most
recently, he was the vice president of
Research and Development for RSC
Bio Solutions, a provider of lubricants,
cleaners, absorbents, gear oil and
greases for the marine, offshore oil and
gas, utility fleets, waste management,
energy and turf industries.
Roell replaced Phil Korosec, who
retired Dec. 31, 2017. Korosec had
an exceptional career in the chemicals industry for more than 55 years,
spending the last 12 years leading the
MCC technical team. During his time
with MCC, Korosec was responsible
for technical direction, formulations
and customer technical support for
both fuel and lubricant additives.
Korosec and Roell have been
working closely together to ensure the
smoothest transition possible following Korosec's retirement date.
MCC also recently announced
Jeff Davidson's promotion to district
sales manager for the western region of
the U.S., as well as the hiring of Charlie
Schulz as district sales manager of the

southern region of the U.S. Davidson
has 11 years of experience in the
finished lubricants and fuel additives
industry. He started his MCC career in
June 2006, as a territory sales manager,
working quickly into the role of area
sales manager. Davidson succeeded
Ray Sparling in the role after Sparling's
retirement on Dec. 31, 2017.

ILMA EXTENDS ITS CONDOLENCES
TO FAMILY OF JOE HUNT

Schulz brings with him more than
13 years of experience in the lubricants
and fuel additives industry. He will
play a key role in developing effective
strategies and tactics to expand both
fuel and lubricant additive sales in his
assigned geography.

ILMA is saddened to learn of the
passing of Joe Hunt, regional sales
manager at Palmer Holland, who
was 56 at the time of his passing on
Dec. 20, 2017.
Joe was a 30-year veteran of the
chemical industry. He joined Palmer
Holland in November 1993, and his
service to the industry was unselfish
and unending. He was the president
of the Pittsburgh Paint and Coatings
Association in 1998 and was heavily
involved in the Chicago Paint and
Coatings Association and the Society of
Tribologists and Lubricant Engineers.
In 1994, Joe married his longtime
friend, Cyndi, with whom he had two
sons, Jay and Brendan. He was an avid
sports enthusiast who loved watching
and playing most sports, but more than
anything, he loved his family.
Joe will be greatly missed by everyone at Palmer Holland and by all of his
friends throughout the entire ILMA
community and chemical industry.
