Member Updates

Marsha Anderson Bomar, AICP, ENV
SP (H) was named one of the "Top 100
Influential Women to Know" by Engineering
Georgia magazine. She currently is Executive
Director of Gateway85, the Gwinnett Community Improvement District (CID) that is
the largest single CID in the state of Georgia.
Marsha was also recently named an Honorary
Member of ITE, the highest honor bestowed
on ITE members.
Brian Chandler, P.E., PTOE (M) has
been named director of transportation safety
at DKS Associates in their Seattle, WA, USA
office. Brian joins DKS with an extensive
background in traffic safety and operations
in government and the private sector. In his
current role, Brian will be developing and
growing the firm's established transportation
safety services and developing new market
opportunities.
Charles R. Stevens Jr., P.E., PTOE (M)
has joined Stevens Technical Services as a
new principal. Charles brings more than
15 years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering. He will utilize his
consulting and research background to provide additional expertise and help grow the
firm. Charles is a graduate of LeadershipITE.
The Traffic Group, Inc. has promoted
Anthony Guckert (M) to executive vice
president, Glenn Cook (M) to senior vice
president, and Carl Wilson, P.E., PTOE
(M) to vice president.
Anthony Guckert has 22 years of experience, including managing hundreds of
mechanical counts and manual intersection
turning movement counts in the field, and
heads up the Traffic Data Collection Services
Division. As executive vice president, he will
oversee a staff of project managers, assistant project managers, field supervisors and
technicians, and contract personnel working

on both private and public sector projects
throughout the United States. Anthony has
an intimate knowledge of traffic data collection and continues to take an active role
in testing new equipment and verifying the
latest innovative techniques in conducting
traffic counts. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore.
Glenn Cook will oversee the preparation
of traffic impact studies, geometric design
plans, parking lot layouts, highway lighting,
traffic control, and traffic signal design plans.
He frequently testifies before numerous
Courts and County and Municipal Boards
in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware,
and West Virginia among other states, as a
qualified expert in the field of traffic engineering and transportation planning. He has
more than 45 years of experience in the traffic engineering and transportation planning
field in both the public and private sectors
and in dealing with the complex challenges
associated with receiving public agency
approvals. Glenn's experience also led to an
appointment by the Governor of Maryland
to serve on a task force whose mission was
to streamline Maryland's Highway Access
Permit process.
Carl Wilson will be undertaking various
traffic studies in addition to responsibilities that include management of projects
throughout Maryland and neighboring
jurisdictions. Scopes of projects under his
direction vary from analyses at a single
intersection to the preparation of Interstate
Access Point Approvals, which involve studies at numerous interchanges along freeway
corridors. Prior to joining The Traffic Group,
Carl worked on the senior engineering staff
at the Office of Traffic and Safety at the
Maryland State Highway Administration.
He earned a bachelor of science degree and
master of engineering degree from the University of Maryland College Park
