Preferred Partners: Serving Credit
Unions With Leading Solutions
By Richard L. Harris, NAFCU Chair

B

eing centered in our communities and respective fields of
membership, credit unions are
uniquely designed for member
service. We know our members' shortterm financial needs and long-term
financial goals. We want to serve them
and be their financial advocates through
every phase of their lives.

Thanks to NAFCU Services Corporation (NSC), credit unions have more
resources available to them than they
might realize to provide their members
with the services and products they want.
Even if your credit union doesn't have
the resources needed to meet all your
members' needs and wants, NAFCU
Services' hand-selected partners do.
NAFCU Services is a wholly owned
subsidiary of NAFCU and has partnered
with the industry's leading providers to
offer solutions to the credit union industry since 1975.
These specially selected Preferred Partners live in the financial services arena
and will partner with credit unions to
provide the newest technologies, services
and resources available to help them and
their members. Furthermore, NAFCU
Services bestows the Preferred Partner
seal only on suppliers that are clearly
dedicated to the credit union industry
and have completed rigorous evaluation.
As background, the selection process for
a Preferred Partner starts with a suggestion or referral - most often from
a credit union. That service or solution

is then discussed by the NSC Advisory
Committee, made up solely of credit
union executives. If there is support
for the solution, NAFCU Services will
issue a request for proposals. Then, the
NAFCU Services Board of Directors
will vote, followed by a vote from the
NAFCU Board of Directors. If approved,
that supplier becomes the exclusive
Preferred Partner for their solution.
A few of our Preferred Partners include:
Allied Solutions sells and underwrites customizable bond and insurance solutions to keep credit unions
and their members better protected
from risks.
■■ Vantiv LLC is now the largest payment
processor in the world and provides
an array of innovative payment processing and technology solutions to
credit unions.
■■ Mastercard offers innovative payments technologies for credit, debit
and prepaid cards our members store
in their wallets.
■■ CUNA Mutual Group empowers
credit unions with insurance, technology and advanced analytics to
enhance, protect and enable credit
union growth.
■■ TrueCar dramatically changes the
car-buying experience by showing
members exact market prices and then
connecting them with the company's thousands of dealers that provide upfront pricing on the vehicles
they offer.
■■ Strategic Resource Management

cost benchmarking, consultation and
negotiating services.
While the expertise and solutions of
these Preferred Partners provide an
incredible service to our industry, these
vetted providers also support NAFCU
and credit unions with vital financial
contributions and informative educational materials.
And the best part: Partnering with these
Preferred Partners allows us to give our
members a seamless financial experience as we serve them through all stages
of life.
