Control (RMC) Units
Defines communication protocol for
ramp metering control (RMC) units.
Communicating together, RMC units
detect both traffic on the main roadway
and queued traffic preparing to enter
the main roadway, optimizing traffic
flow for both. RMC units include a field
controller, its suite of sensors, and its
warning signs and signals, as well as
main roadway and queue detection
stations.
