Toledo Ticket and TransCore Launch RFID-based “Hang Tags”
Ohio-based Toledo Ticket Company and TransCore have jointly developed an RFID-based hang tag for wireless access control at entry and exit points of parking facilities. By leveraging Toledo Ticket’s vast market reach with products in all 50 states and over 30 countries, and a century of experience providing tickets of all form factors, combined with TransCore’s pioneering RFID engineering capabilities, the two companies will bring a product to market that can expand RFID’s use within the parking and security access control industry. Wireless RFID technology used for parking and security access control, and also deployed for wireless payment of tolls throughout the country, allows vehicles to enter and exit parking garages virtually without stopping, keeping access smooth and back-ups limited. The resulting reduced idle times significantly decreases carbon emission output on a consistent basis. Features of the new hang tags that will be exclusively manufactured and marketed by Toledo Ticket Co. include: fade-proof digital or offset printing that resists heat, cold, and sunlight without curling or breaking; manufactured using high-density 3-ply teslin; holographic overlays and UV sensitive printing; consecutive numbering available in any color, double-sided numbering; a full range of colors and finishes and can be back printed; bar codes, masks and magnetic stripes also available; and extensive variety of stock sizes to choose from, custom sizes and die-cut shapes available. Pricing will be based on volume and printing requirements.
