The Certified Parking Professional Designation
If you could spend a little to save a lot, would you do it? Did you know that having your managers and team members complete the National Parking Association’s Certified Parking Professional (CPP) program allows you additional specific credits/reductions in premiums from some insurance programs? As the insurance Affinity Partner with the National Parking Association, we have modified our insurance program to offer an additional credit tied to the number of individuals within your organization that have received their CPP designation. This credit continues year after year as long as your managers and team members maintain their designations. Being a member of the Certification Advisory Board (CAB) for the past five years, I can personally tell you that the best and brightest in the industry volunteered their time and effort to recently update the Study Guide, making it one of the best in the industry. The new Study Guide is comprehensive in its content and will spur individuals to increase their critical thinking. The Guide helps create thought processes for employees to learn more and delve deeper into subjects that they need to effectively and efficiently do their jobs. Although they may not be involved in all of the subject matters discussed within the Guide, it gives them a much better understanding of the entire process and in turn helps to minimize risk for your organization. Knowing that your employees are your greatest asset and that knowledge is power, by combing the two you create a highly effective resource in so many ways. It has been proven time and again that there is a direct correlation between well trained employees and lower frequency and severity of losses. Fewer incidents result in higher employee morale, higher productivity, better health/less suffering and ultimately lower insurance costs. We also know that the commitment to well trained employees must be embraced from the top down. Parking companies that have committed the time and energy to the training of their managers and want-to-be-managers, especially through the Certified Parking Professional program, tend to have a more knowledgeable and empowered workforce, fewer losses creating a better pubic image and lower direct and indirect costs.
