The CPP program provides industry-leading best practices, knowledge base, and skills needed to excel in your profession. The program helps keeps managers up-to-date in the following areas: Operations, Design, Regulations, Loss Prevention, Safety, Equipment, Accounting/Auditing, Human Resources, Customer Service, Marketing/Administration and Maintenance. An important goal of NPA, and particularly the CAB members, is to inform those outside our industry as to what our certification program is all about and why any property owner, management company or developer should seek to only do business with parking management companies who provide CPP-certified management for their project. The association is implementing a formal

marketing program to get the word out about our certification program and is looking for your support in touting the program in the cities you operate in. For those of you who are procrastinating with signing your staff up to become certified, I remind you of the following Chinese proverb: Learning is like rowing upstream; not to advance is to drop back. I look forward to seeing everyone at the 59th Annual Convention and Exposition at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston October 11–14. 
