Hood also placed third in the Capital Athletic Conference regular season standings with a - league mark. Ryan Junghans (pictured above) garnered fi rst team all-conference plaudits for the second consecutive year and placed Hood in numerous offensive categories, including scoring, three pointers, free throw percentage, steals and minutes played. Junghans also finished the - campaign as the top foul shooter in NCAA Division III with a sparkling . free throw percentage. D.C., marking Hood’s fi rst-ever CAC triumph. The Blazers went on to sweep the Bison in addition to scoring a narrow fourpoint win over Villa Julie College on the road. The team also defeated Penn State University-York and Trinity University (D.C.) in nonconference play. Willison led the Blazers for the second straight year in scoring and rebounding and ranked in the top eight in the CAC in both categories. Women’s Swimming Hood captured sixth place at the Capital Athletic Conference championships and notched a - dual meet record on the season. Katie Hitchens shattered a -year-old school record in her signature event, the freestyle, on the fi rst day of competition at the meet. Amy Kaufman (pictured below) also capped a phenomenal four-year career by qualifying for finals in three individual events, the individual medley, the freestyle and the , freestyle. Kim Wolfgang earned a spot in the championship finals in her fi rst CAC meet with a pair of eighth-place showings in the backstroke and the individual medley. Men’s Swimming Hood’s core of six swimmers registered just one dual-meet victory but posted numerous quality swims this season. Robert Ennis broke the school records in the breaststroke and the breaststroke at the Capital Athletic Conference championships at St. Mary’s College (Md.). Matt Haynes lowered the school standards in the freestyle against Marymount University and the freestyle at the conference meet. Ennis and Jason Kinder won the consolation heats in the breaststroke and the backstroke, respectively, at CACs. Women’s Baketball First-year head coach Jay Butler and the Blazers earned a berth in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament in Hood’s first year in the league.
