Jason Anderson fi nished his career as the Blazers’ all-time leading scorer with points on goals and assists. Four-year starting goalkeeper Sam Hofmann (pictured above) amassed saves in the blue and gray, ranking him in the top all-time in NCAA Division III history. Hood also set program records for goals in a single game () and goals in a season (). but, Hood used a seventh-inning rally to upend Wesley College for a - victory. Jen Willison and Sara Wastler both hit over . for the season, while Wastler became Hood’s all-time leader in runs, hits and doubles. Jamie Gardner was named CAC Athlete of the Week March . Men’s Tennis Hood’s two dual-match victories this season came at the hands of Chestnut Hill College and Lincoln University. Abou Camara won five singles matches, all at the No. spot, while Mike Hardman and David Blowe each won four singles matches at the No. and No. positions, respectively. Justin Everett scored in two jumping events. After scoring just points in its fi rst CAC meet last season, Hood accumulated points this spring. Additionally, the xmeter relay squad of Ola Komolafe, Ryan Jenkins, Tomilayo Komolafe and Mike Cahill qualified for the prestigious Penn Relays and broke the school record. Women’s Track and Field Jessica Parrish (pictured above) captured a pair of sprint titles and was crowned newcomer of the year at the Capital Athletic Conference championships at York College (Pa.). Parrish, a transfer student from Catonsville Community College, took top honors in the - and the -meter dashes and owns school standards in both events. Danielle Sgro also added an all-conference certificate to her impressive résumé with a second place finish in the , meters. Katie Thomas scored points for the Blazers in the high jump, the long jump and the meter hurdles. In all, school records were broken this spring by the women’s track and field team. Women’s Lacrosse Molly Hesterberg finished her first season as head coach and the Blazers wrapped up their inaugural campaign in the Capital Athletic Conference with a record of -. Four-year starting goalkeeper Lauren Lieb took home second team all-conference honors and ended her career as the program’s all-time leader in saves with . Hood posted a pair of shutouts over nonconference rivals Hollins University and Trinity University (D.C.) and downed Lancaster Bible College and Ferrum College at home. Sarah Balukoff was Hood’s top scorer, compiling points on goals and one assist. Women’s Tennis The Blazers won five straight matches midway through the spring season and finished the - campaign with a winning record (). Stephanie Garrett (pictured above) registered a - dual-match record, primarily at second singles, while Laura Wanner notched a - record at fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Christine Ocampos-Barry was Hood’s top singles player again this season and finished - on the year. She teamed with Larisa Buriak at first doubles to go -, including - in Capital Athletic Conference matches. The Blazers recorded their first-ever CAC wins over Wesley College and Villa Julie College. Men’s Golf Hood participated in seven tournaments this season and was one of five schools to compete in the fi rst Capital Athletic Conference championship. The freshman-laden squad shot a -hole score of for fifth place at the Piney Branch Golf Club in Hampstead, Md. Aaron Prescott was Hood’s top finisher, tying for th place after carding a tworound score of and was chosen as the league’s rookie of the year. Andrew Alger competed in all eight competitions for the Blazers and boasted an . scoring average. He also notched Hood’s low round of the season with a against Villa Julie College. Softball First-year head coach Kate Barrick guided the Blazers to a - overall record, eclipsing last season’s win total, and a fourth-place finish in the Capital Athletic Conference standings. Hood won consecutive games from March -, matching the longest single-season winning streak by any Hood athletic team.
