Evie Sprague Pouncey reported being in good health, although she broke her leg last summer and has had a pacemaker for 7 years! For the last 20 years, she has taken “lifetime learning” class at the Univ. of Auburn, and has done extensive traveling. She has six grandchildren and a 6-year-old-great granddaughter. She gets together occasionally with Ginger Dyer Smith, Danny Nolan Jennings and Lois Piper Dalgleisch. Jean York Grigsby has some arthritis (don’t we all?), but keeps in shape by dancing weekly. She has two greatgrandchildren living near her, and promises to think about coming to the next reunion, which will be NEXT SPRING! Your reporter also enjoys a great-grandson, 2-year-old Marshall, who lives in Philadelphia. I keep busy with CASA work, doing taxes for AARP, singing with Lehigh Univ. Choral Group and ushering there for musical events. I am also the majority inspector for our polling place, and look forward to the November election. My grandson graduates from Wake Forest Univ. this spring. I will be vacationing in Avalon, N.J., with the whole family. Beware, I may call YOU next time! Their daughter and her family live in north Miami. Shirley sings in the Commonwealth Chorale in Farmville, Va. They performed “Elijah” by Mendelssohn at one of two concerts. The choir of 80 draws singers from six surrounding counties. Midge Blakeney Filmyer and Bill traveled to Istanbul last year. Then they enjoyed a river cruise on the Danube, which went from Germany to Austria, into Slovakia and concluded in Hungary. Patty Callender Hewit and Hardy are always included in their summer destinations. Midge says like most seniors they enjoy some fun things but many in the inconvenient medical arena. Jan Campbell Clute writes that they really enjoy living in the West (Utah). They lead a gentle life. They spent part of Christmas with their Chicago family and after the holidays visited in Denver with their two sons and their families. Jan says her body has rebelled—no skiing, no golf, no tennis, no university art museum! She is free—retired! Anne Chaney Mesmer and Ted enjoyed their Wisconsin summer with family from D.C. The highlight of her year was walking across the Brooklyn Bridge (and back). She attended The American Dance Therapy Association annual meeting in September, which was virtually at the foot of the bridge at the Marriott. Anne says though a New Yorker she had never walked it.
