Celebrations will honor her husband, David’s 80th birthday, and their grandson’s acceptance at Penn State. Marion Decker McCormick came to Florida for winter, and one week of that was in a big house in Everglade City with their three children and their spouses. Blessed with good fun for all as they colored eggs for Easter, had a mystery dinner and did lots of bird, wildflower and gator watching. Marion’s husband Delmar begins radiation in April for the lung cancer he has survived for nearly 10 years. Condolences to Sue Seigal Asher on the passing of her daughter Janet Feb. 1, 2008. I received many notes from those unable to attend our reunion. Marge Aronson Dalmas was unable to attend as family affairs kept them in Albuquerque. Rebecca Baker’s husband Don is recuperating from surgery for bladder cancer. They are optimistic about a successful cure as all test results have been good. Mary Jane Baldwin Scherer has had back problems, causing leg pain and has to have an epidural every three months. She is glad that pain therapy is available. Charlotte Beshore Ahrens has three grandchildren graduating the same week; two from college and one from high school. She and Bob had a trip through the Panama Canal and Costa Rica this past spring. Mary Ann Body Weiss is well and is planning an August riverboat trip to Russia. Kitzi Briwa Damico is taking care of her young grandchildren in Houston. Margaret Brown Barati is settling back in Pennsylvania after wintering in Florida. She did some traveling last year and hopes to go sail to Europe in July. Nancy Brown Kohlheyer will be in Georgia in August babysitting her twin grandsons and in September she and John will be in Brussels and Paris. Betsy Craig Bernhard is well and still competing with her labs as well as working with the battered women’s shelter and keeping busy with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Jane Fruechtemeyer Dillon’s granddaughter will be graduating from college. Oscar will be presenting a paper in Dublin. Nancy Jones Knotts has retired and recently attended her granddaughter’s graduation from college. Dorothy Ann Joyce Coffin just had a total knee replacement with complications but did visit Hood with her daughter and heard the “Messiah”—brought back good memories. Nadya Klotz Giusi is still seeing clients, writing books and teaching in the sociology department at the local junior college. Her husband Valerio has retired after teaching for 43 years at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey. Barbara Mayer Werle and Jerry have driven back to Vermont after spending the winter in Sun City Center, Fla. Stefanie Pick Kopp attended the wedding of her grandson and had a great opportunity to spend quality time with the family. Mercea Panfil Hadigian and Bill continue to travel using time share weeks in Maui, Hilton Head, Playa Dorado and Las Vegas. Janet Peek Clancy is now a great-grandmother and is still busy with tennis, bridge and walking. Bev Rosenberg Sager sends her best to everyone. She says, “Have fun and remember the good times.” Louise Buser Harris had a mini-reunion with Joan Halford Rohlfing and Lois Gaertner Hallof. Louise said, “It was grand catching up in person.” Lois was in Tanzania on safari this past March and said, with so many animals to see, it was “a photographer’s dream.” Our reunion was REUNION 2009 June 5-7, 2009 SAVE THE DATE
