She had developed neuropathy about seven years after chemotherapy with Taxol, but medication and exercise help her to be grateful for the opportunity of getting old. Bob and Sue McCormick Powers live in Chesapeake, Va., within shouting distance of the Great Dismal Swamp. Bob retired twice, once from the U.S. Navy and then from Sonalysts, a consulting firm. Sue worked as a veterinary receptionist during the 90s and was also active in the Southeast Virginia Dressage Association. These days, she and Bob try to keep up with four grandchildren, four horses, three cats, two dogs and a pony. Books and crossword puzzles take up the rest of her time. Joe and Ann McMillan Shuman are adjusting to his retirement from law. Their son David is an attorney in San Diego and their daughter is a marine biologist in Fort Lauderdale. Ann stays in touch with quite a few of our classmates. In January 2007, she attended Helene Kight Abel’s funeral with Sally Stoecklein Bregenser. In April 2007, she attended a play at Arena Stage in D.C. with Carolyn Fritch Clewell. In February 2008, she dined with Harriet LeSourd Wise at her home in Frederick.
