Hunting for ducks and geese can be a lot of fun but there are some things you need to know before you head out to the river, lake or marsh. Let’s explore some of the important things about hunting waterfowl. Know Your Waterfowl It is very important to know and be able to identify the different types of ducks and geese. You also need to know the difference between the male and female ducks. Most waterfowl laws only let you shoot certain ducks or geese and only so many males (drakes) or females (hens). Be sure to learn how to identify these differences before you go hunting! In many types of ducks, the male usually has brighter and more colorful feathers than the female.
