44 HOOD MAGAZINE | WINTER 2010 lights, crisp cold air, a dog’s soft ears and adoring eyes, a loving husband, hugs and my favorite—a son or daughter’s voice on the phone. Debbie Mooney Bennett: Glad to reconnect with Paula Davis Setters M.A. ’84, Susie Hawk and Becca Seymour Sweeney at our reunion. Halfway through my M.B.A.—hope to finish 2010. My daughter and I took the train to NYC for the Broadway play “White Christmas.” I refused to buy new work clothes so lost eight pounds instead. 2010 resolutions—keep on keepin’ on, give back all I can to share the blessings I’ve received. So many people and animals need support of donations of time, talent and money. Elizabeth Wildes Tabor: Don’t believe you’ve heard from me since graduation. Maine life is busy … lots of company in the summer. Still married to Andy—30 years! Son Kilton is in his fourth year of a five-year engineering program. This Thanksgiving was our first without him … he was with his girlfriend’s family. We still had a full table of family and friends at our Cape Elizabeth home. Since Hood, I’ve earned my master’s in teaching and learning from the Univ. of Southern Maine. Taught school, then left to care for five seniors in our family. For the past four years, Andy and I have been operating our business “Focused on You,” in Scarborough, Maine. Still spend most of our summer on Vinalhaven (Penobscot Bay Island) or at the lake in Waterford. Esther Beckmann Bowman: Justine’s July wedding … family and friends celebration in Statesboro, Ga. RJ—Georgia Southern senior, contemplating a master’s next. Swordsman’s Ball … August fundraiser for American Cancer Society—planning committee. Celebrating Rick’s third year cancer free. Favorite song lyrics: “God is great, beer is good, people are crazy”—gets me through the day smiling. Fun and happiness to all in 2010! Gail Annunziato Anthony: Living in the land of 10,000 lakes for four and a half years. Still looking for that “paradise” of warm winters and not scorching summers. Employed at Sage in customer service tech support for medical software. Husband Jeffrey is a music minister at a Lutheran church. Thanks to his Los Angeles casting agent sister, Jeffrey worked on the set of “Better Off Ted,” episode titled “Lust in Translation.” He’s the German who never got to say anything, airing in February. Daughter Juliana (fifth grade) enjoys singing, reading and school plays. Son Jonathan (first grade) gets “forced” into church choir— he’d prefer playing an instrument, Wii or Nintendo DS. Ginnie Roth: After 15 years working in law firms, I’m credentialed, finishing up an online paralegal program through Boston Univ. Proud “A” average while working 10-hour days. No more overzealous hairdressers highlighting techniques—back to brown. Traveled to Maine and Italy … Boston next. Best wishes for a healthy new year! Jane Krebs Drozinski’s 2009 favorite things: Wedding of son Andrew to Callie Pope July 18 in Roanoke, Va. All kids home for Thanksgiving. Laughing. Sharing stories old and new with family and extended family. My first grade class singing on Grandparent’s Day and Veteran’s Day. Marcia Baker Roberson M.S. ’88: A Hood student again! Currently pursing a master’s in thanatology with hopes of graduating in 2012 with my Hood sophomore son, Zachary Roberson ’12, a resident assistant in Memorial! Son Joel is an eighth grader at Walkersville Middle School. Hopefully he, too, is Hood bound. Met husband David through work. We’ll celebrate our 25th anniversary next year on a trip with our sons to Alaska. Rebecca Seymour Sweeney’s quick and dirty class column attempt: How in the world do we now have so-called adult children? My eyes opened to exhilaration of travel—London; Barcelona; Aran Islands, Ireland. Continually “centered” by giving time to social concerns/issues at church. For 2010, a Godspeed wish for recent college grads who struggle with un- and under-employment; also for everyone waiting for the economy to brighten. May optimism, good health and life lessons continue to guide us into a new, vibrant year. Giving Participation: 14.96% · Total Class Dollars: $5,085 30th Reunion June 4-6 Allison Horne 126 S. Her three older children are out on their own and doing well. Jennifer Reinbrecht (jennreinbrecht@yahoo.com) has been a massage therapist in Denver, Colo., for 15 years and loves it. She spends her free time in the mountains, canyons or in her garden. This year she celebrated 28 years of “wedded bliss with my husband Brian Schat.” She stays in touch with Cindy Smith Fritz, who keeps her posted on Frederick and Hood happenings. Her family lives in Harrisburg, Pa., and Point of Rocks, Md., so she comes East occasionally. Kim Taylor Roman (kim@ kimroman.com) had some great news to share. Kim just finished her first e-book, “WOW—Wipe Out Worry.” Her second book, “Life Lessons You Might Have Missed,” is almost finished. She has started coaching and speaking to help people manage worry and stress, and was recently interviewed on 97.1 WASH-FM. Her Web site is www.kimromancorle.com. Pam works at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and husband Gary is still at Bogley Chevrolet. She and Gary are proud grandparents of Kelly’s 4-pound Chihuahua and not in a hurry to be real grands yet. They spend their free time at the family cabin in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and enjoy boating and fishing. She keeps in touch with Kathie Hogan Rush M.B.A. ’89 and Mich Dolce Perpich. His passion is dirt bike riding. Karen spent her 50th birthday celebrating with family and friends in Los Angeles. Her husband conspired with her family and made an awesome memory book of her life! She met Mark when she was 18 and they celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary this year. Karen Lambert Leh spent a few nights in Maryland this summer while her daughter played field hockey at the Univ. of Maryland, and Leigh Moomaw McBride, Nancy Gillece, vice president for institutional advancement at Hood, and I (Lynn Marzulli White) all got together to catch up. It had been more than 10 years since we saw Karen but she hasn’t changed a bit, and we picked up right where we left off.
