Cooper Lighting announced that four products and a lighting application have been recognized by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Progress Report Committee as providing “an advancement in the art and science of lighting.” The accepted products and application are part of the 2009 IES Progress Report and include the Halo H7 LED 600 Series Downlight, McGraw-Edison Generation LED Post Top Retrofit Light Engine, Ametrix Arrowlinear VHO luminaires and the RSA Quiet Ceiling and Accurus Downlight Expansion designed to utilizing the Philips® Mini MasterColor™ CDMTm and GE® T4GU6.5 ceramic metal halide lamps. The IES Progress Report presents significant developments and improvements in the lighting industry over the past year. Card payment solutions provider CreditCall has been begun processing all longterm, short-term and business car parking payments for Apcoa at BAA Heathrow Airport, Terminals 1-5. Flying to over 180 destinations in over 90 countries, 66.9 million passengers travel to and from BAA Heathrow Airport every year. CreditCall anticipates that it will process three million card transactions in 2010. Fontinalis Partners, LLC, a Michigan-based strategic investment firm, announced that it has invested in Parkmobile USA, Inc., and the firm’s parent company, Parkmobile International B.V., a provider of mobile parking payment systems and integrated transportation technology solutions. Greenscape Capital Group Inc. announced that, in partnership with Garage Juice Bar, LLC, it is implementing Canada’s first province-wide electric vehicle charging station network. This network will be 100 percent privately financed and will link all of British Columbia through the installation of EV charging stations on properties owned or operated by existing Greenscape energy retrofit clients and on other third-party locations. The Juice Bar is also negotiating agreements with several large U.S. municipalities to provide EV charging station networks through the Green Garage Initiative, a team of energy conservation and alternative energy innovators. Greenscape also announced that it is sponsoring the Carbon War Room in its partnership with Mayor Gregor Robertson, to launch the Green Capital Global Challenge, a one-year program focused on using market-based solutions to reduce carbon emissions in the built environment. Greenscape will join Sir Richard Branson and the Honourable José María Figueres, founders of the Carbon War Room; Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, and a host of innovative entrepreneurs, civic leaders, and financiers from around the world, in launching the event during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The Carbon War Room is a ‘think and do tank’ that harnesses the entrepreneurial spirit of business leaders and others focused on climate change to identify and disseminate locally effective models that mobilize capital to civic energy efficiency initiatives. For the sixth year running, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has been named to FORTUNE magazine’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, this year appearing at number 62. The employee-owned engineering and planning firm has more than 1,500 staff in 58 offices across 16 states, as well as an office in New Delhi, India. Kimley-Horn is nationally ranked by Engineering News-Record as number one in multiunit residential site engineering, number two in retail site development, and in the top 10 U.S. design firms providing services for airports, highways, and green design. The firm’s growing transit practice is ranked number 15 in the nation. LAZ Parking has been selected to provide hospitality parking services for Miami’s newest cultural playground: 11 11 Lincoln Road (1111lincolnroad.com). Situated in the heart of Miami Beach at the entrance of Lincoln Road’s famed pedestrian promenade and retail showplace, LAZ Parking’s latest facility is an artistic “live, work, play” environment unlike anything to come before it. It encompasses 13 retail concept stores, 110,000 square feet of fully leased office space, a 300-space car park facility, four restaurants, an event space for concerts and art openings, and five luxury residences. MobileNOW’s ParkNOW! solution was selected for a pilot project in Montgomery County, Md. The pilot was launched in downtown Bethesda in January 2010 in one of the city’s most well traveled locations, encompassing some 1250 parking spaces. This pilot marks ParkNOW!’s largest U.S. installation to date. The ParkNOW! technology was originally launched in Estonia in 2000 and is already available in six European countries. TagMaster has delivered RFID systems against a new order from Funkwerk Information Technologies GmbH (Funkwerk IT) in Germany. The TagMaster equipment will be installed on the new U4 line of the HOCHBAHN light rail system in Hamburg. TagMaster has previously supplied RFID equipment to Hamburg for lines U2 and U3.
