Why Them? The Outdoor Channel
became big game for companies
hoping to gain sizeable standing
in outdoor sportsmen circles. The
players in the hunt, Kroenke Sports
& Entertainment LLC and InterMedia
Outdoors Holdings, locked horns this
year in a contentious bidding war
that saw the network's shares rapidly
rise. In the end, Kroenke prevailed,
and Outdoor is under new ownership

anguish in golf; however, McCarley's
stunning run for the
Golf Channel calls for cries of
joy. A Tiger-sized crowd made
it the most watched year ever
for the network, and same
goes for its mobile brethren,
which teed off the year with
its best quarter ever. McCarley
also launched 24/7
streaming of Golf Channel in
Q2, bringing live coverage
of the 2013 NCAA National
Championship to Golf Channel
after a 10-year absence
on television. He also negotiated
for full coverage of the
World Long Drive Championships,
which used to be a
tape-delay special on ESPN,
and will debut coverage this
fall. To boot, he also manages
GolfNow, the largest tee time
booking service in the world.

if I could go back
to high school: Study more.

drove up the closing price. The two
blaze trails for The Outdoor Channel,

HD goodness.

the Berghoff Café in Terminal 1 for a
turkey on rye.
