Kennedy's success at CSG can be linked to what those who know him call a relentless commitment to helping CSPs transform
from telcos to " tech-cos. " Last year was unprecedented in terms of growth for CSG, which hit the $1 billion revenue milestone
and saw two of its biggest contract renewals-from DISH and Charter. The latter was the largest deal signed in CSG history.
Under Kennedy's leadership, CSG also completed two major acquisitions-Tango Telecom and DGIT Systems-that will
advance Kennedy's push to launch a modular cloud-based platform in 2022.
Q&A
What does the metaverse mean to you? It undoubtedly
provides a new horizon with no boundaries and
unlimited potential, and I am excited to see what
can come from the efforts currently going into
creating this virtual world. What also comes to mind
is the concept of digital twins and how modelling
and simulating the real world in the metaverse can
connect people around the world in a shared virtual
experience and lead to greater global advancements.
If I had a time machine, I would... Looking at where the
world is today, I would go back in time and change
the narrative around diversity, inclusion and equality. I
would focus on creating a more inclusive environment
where terms like digital divide and income inequality
would not exist.
What childhood memento have you kept? When I was
young and learning to read, my dad and I read " The
Mouse and the Motorcycle " by Beverly Cleary. It was
the first chapter book I remember. When my son was
young, I read the same book to him. Someday, I hope
he will read the same book to his son or daughter.
Until then, the book is stored safely in my basement.

Not only has Samuels brought fun, energy and a slew of new culturally relevant programming
to Revolt, he's done it with an eye toward entertaining and engaging Gen Z and millennial
viewers while demonstrating Black creativity's importance to the global economy. His efforts
brought 10 million new subscribers to Revolt's linear and digital platforms, which now reach
more than 60 million homes. A strong supporter of Black-owned entertainment companies,
Samuels wants to make Revolt a digital-forward company that pushes Black media to the
forefront and transforms the global media industry. ■
