It's been a period of venturing
into previously unforeseen waters
for Hotwire, but with Johnson guiding the ship it's
been smooth sailing. Hotwire spent the year expanding
its services into new markets in new states, bringing its
internet, IPTV, voice and security and home automation
products to a growing customer base. The company has
its sights set on the 1 million-customer mark in 2023 but
for Johnson, the work doesn't stop there. An active participant
in various philanthropic initiatives, she helped a
community enhancement project that saw the construction
of a 10-mile linear park beneath Miami's Metrorail.

Shook is always pushing Toledo-based Buckeye Broadband
to think big. That's why the company is embarking
on a 270-mile cable build this year for Sandusky and Huron,
Ohio, that will offer speeds of up to 10 gigs. He also
led the launch of Buckeye Broadband's School FreeNet
program, which gives students and their families free adbased
internet service. Shook began his career in 1988
as an installer with Comcast, rising to a regional operations
director in Florida. He joined Buckeye in 2015, first
as EVP, Customer Experience and later COO and interim
GM before being named president in 2019.
