Fogler-Tortora isn't afraid of a good
challenge, accepting a role last year
leading the East Division of field marketers
for Spectrum Reach. Since
then, she's found success in embracing
collaboration, developing
strategies that are attractive to both
employees and customers. She's a
founding member and co-chair of
Charter's LGBTQ business resource
group, and while allies were always a
key part of her life, Fogler-Tortora realized
the true importance of allyship
as Charter prepared to hold an Inclusion
Talks in 2019. " One of my closest
colleagues approached me when he
heard we were doing the event and
said he'd like to attend, but wasn't a
part of the LGBTQ+ community-
could he still come?, " she says. " The
best way for an ally to show up is to
ask questions, be supportive, attend
events, and most importantly-do
not be afraid to admit what you don't
know or don't understand. "

in
LGBTQ+ history? As a huge fan of
MTV growing up, I remember " The
Real World " season that captured Pedro
Zamora's real life struggles as a
gay man in the mid-90s. It was shown
in a way that was genuine and real.

Goulette's rise at the start of the year
to his current position was the result
of two decades of hard work, and that
determination is infectious. He's now a
key part of Charter's Digital Platforms
team, leading efforts to grow supplier
diversity and create development opportunities
for other employees that
want to grow within Charter. Charter's
business resource groups are
led by its executive vice presidents,
and that's a policy that has left Goulette
feeling supported at every level
of the company. " I feel this to be an
important aspect of the program as it
shows personal commitment from our
top leaders of the company, " he says.
" Our leadership teams are engaged
and show genuine care and compassion
for taking care of employees and
doing what is right, which has kept me
with the company for 20+ years. "
Advice for allies on how to show up
for their LGBTQ+ colleagues? Show
up, listen without judgment and treat
all employees with mutual respect.
Use your position within the company
to influence change... Join and participate
in your company's employee resource
groups. As an ally, you will be
surprised at the information you can
learn, and the support you can provide
by actively participating in ERGs.

Hancock is one of the faces of Pride
at Disney, serving as the event's colead
of its PRIDE employee resource
group. He helped produce events like
the " Out on the Lot " community partner
fair in June and booked ABC talent
for the Los Angeles and New York
Pride Parades. There can be challenges
being openly queer at a large
corporation, but Hancock has always
been excited about the opportunity to
share his experiences in such a space.
" At any company as large as Disney
our voices can often feel unheard or
misrepresented. To not only be a part
of the mission to educate, advocate
and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community
but to also be part of the process
to hold ourselves accountable and to
the highest standard is a great privilege
and honor, " he says.

LGBTQ+ history? Rickie Vasquez
on " My So-Called Life " on ABC was a
game changer for me. Seeing an authentic
and flamboyant, Latinx teenager
on TV was like looking in a mirror.
As a young teen, watching him week
to week, made me feel less alone and
inspired me to be more confident in
myself.
