She's a co-chair of the Fox Ad Sales
Diversity and Inclusion Council,

focuses on helping emerging professionals
grow into their careers in ad
sales.

spearheaded Nat Geo's Field Ready
Program to promote diversity and
inclusion in television production,
especially in natural history. She
expanded the program to include science,
adventure and exploration, and
also works to create change through
the content she stewards.
SHE SAYS... " My mother's
teachings have meant more to me
than ever. Not because she had a
high-powered executive job but quite
the opposite. She came to this country
as an immigrant who didn't speak
English, had no job prospects, family
or much money. However, no matter
what she faced, she maintained her
constant positive and loving spirit
toward my sister and me. "

and focus on being inspirational
for and inclusive of the entire Black
audience.

THE WHY? Ward-Maupin serves as the Executive Sponsor of the Diversity
and Inclusion committee for Comcast Business and was appointed to the
Comcast Cable DE&I Council. She helped lead the launch of Comcast RISE,
formed to give underrepresented small businesses tools needed to thrive. This
also includes the Comcast RISE Investment Fund, which recently announced
it will award another $5 million to small businesses owned by people of color
and women.
SHE SAYS... " We need to be aware of our unconscious biases, and do our
best to keep them in check. "

Team " is a great read for anyone who wants to hone their leadership skills.
