Jennings moved from the
Freedom Region to Mile High this
past year. He now oversees all
operations for Colorado and New
Mexico, which puts more than
1 million customers and 3,500
employees under his watch. If
Jennings could create an app to
make his life easier, he'd have it
" translate cable acronyms. " Good
idea! We'll take one of those.
17. Jim samaha
Best Advice in 7 Words or
Less: Be willing to start at the
bottom.
Corno knows a little something
about sports, TV and Chicago.
He's led every regional sports
network in the Windy City. And
since he counts sports and TV
as the most important things
in life-aside from family, of
course-it's clear he's found
his calling. Ever the diplomat,
this sports executive claims four
favorite teams: The Bulls, Blackhawks,
White Sox and Cubs.
19. Rebecca schulte
SVP/GM, Cox Louisiana
Years in Cable: 27
Education: BS, Business Administration
and Management,
U of Redlands
Best Advice in 7 Words or

all today.
Regional SVP, Keystone
Region, Comcast Cable
Years in Cable: 18
Education: MBA
Best Advice in 7 Words or
Less: Do it to impress yourself,
not others.
Samaha's achievements of late
include integrating two new VPs
into his team and implementing
new HR and customer service
models-not to mention his
ability to steer the ship through
rocky waters. And we are talking
literal water. His leadership on
hand during the region's flooding
last year led to an excellent
field response. The only one in
his family not to become a doctor,
we hope after 18 years in
cable Samaha knows he made
the right choice.
18. Jim Corno
SVP/GM, Comcast SportsNet
Mid-Atlantic
Years in Cable: 14
Education: BA, Radio, TV & Film,
Cal State University, Long Beach
Best Advice in 7 Words or
Less: Work for the job you want.
In the past year, Schulte has solidified
several key partnerships
with leagues. Comcast SportsNet
Mid-Atlantic now has two rights
deals with two NFL teams-
the Washington Redskins and
Baltimore Ravens. She also
secured more live coverage of
Major League Soccer team D.C.
United and live tennis matches
from the Washington Kastles.
Sports news, entertainment
programs and additional mobile
products are on the up at the
network as well. Sports play a
role in Schulte's private life too,
as baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr.
played a role in Schulte meeting
her future husband, Ray.

Vines started in cable as a receptionist
at Time Warner back
in 1984, moved up through the
human resources ranks and
landed the top post at Cox Louisiana
in 2009. On the subject
of Millennials, she is thoughtful:
" This is a generation that has
grown up using technology to
stay connected with friends
and families and reinvented the
term 'networking.' I expect Millennials
to continue to develop
and use technology in a way
that dramatically impacts the
telecommunications industry
and improves the way people
live and communicate. "
21. Jerry McKenna
24. hank Fore
across 19 states. His customers
this year have enjoyed new
channels such as BTN, CBS
Sports, Lifetime Channel and
OWN. And on the tech side,
Cable One made a DOCSIS 3.0
50 Mbps broadband tier-with
a monthly usage cap-available
for customers seeking faster
speeds. A vocal and enthusiastic
supporter of small and
mid-sized operators, Might was
awarded the PAC Individual
Leadership Award by the ACA
this year. The MSO's marketing
and sales strategy, including ad,
cable and commercial sales, fall
under McKenna's purview. He's
been our own Indie Marketer of
the Year for his creative marketing
of the triple play, and he
continues to push the innovation
envelope. McKenna knows
something about service within
the industry-and beyond it.
22. Marilyn Burrows
Years in Cable: 17
Education: BS, Political Science,
Bridgewater State College; JD,
Suffolk University
Best Advice in 7 Words or
Less: Work hard, stay focused
and be nice.
With McLaughlin at the helm,
the Greater New England region
has received high marks for its
financial performance in several
categories-including employee
engagement. Although she took
up the mantle at the Western
New England base in August, she
was area VP for Greater Boston
prior to her promotion. In June,
when a tornado hit western
Massachusetts, she established
an employee natural disaster
fund for affected staffers. Expect
more from McLaughlin this year,
including the region's continued
all-digital rollout, additional HD
and on demand programming,
and more talent management
and leadership programs.
SVP/Chief Sales and
Marketing Officer, Cable One
Years in Cable: 17
Education: St. Michael's College,

Tom Might
SVP/GM, Cox Las Vegas
Years in Cable: 27
Education: BS/MBA, U of
Nebraska
Best Advice in 7 Words or
Less: What data supports that?
Success in life is " a journey, not a
destination, " says Burrows, who
heads up a region that delivers
services to 420,000-plus customers.
Prior to landing in Vegas she
held the same title in Roanoke,
Va., where she and her team
became the first Cox system to
launch VoIP digital phone service.
President/CEO, Cable One

Regional SVP, Western New
England Region, Comcast Cable
December 2011
Comcast's Oregon/SW Washington
Region is known throughout
the company for its pioneering
product launches, and Fore is at
the fore. But beyond that, he's a
true champion of his employees.
Proof lies in the region's high
level of employee feedback-
and customer service scores. A
graduate of West Point, a pilot
and a massive Pittsburgh Steelers
fan, Fore thinks the biggest
innovation in cable over the last
year is remote apps for iPads
and iPhones. And what would his
