McLaughlin proves that the
right balance of investing in and
listening to employees turns in
great business results. Internally,
the Western New England Region
ranked second out of 18 regions
as a place where Comcast
employees love their jobs.
McLaughlin runs an even-keeled
ship while overseeing $1.2 billion
in revenue and the operations,
network development and customer
service for approximately
800K Comcast customers. Her
territory's now a pioneer market
used to roll-out new services and
technologies.

Chillianis has led the charge to
make MSG Varsity's content
available anytime and anywhere
with the launch of the MSG Varsity
mobile application; not only a
plus for parents, but for kids alike
who want to watch their high
school teams on the go. She has
also grown the brand with more
than 2,100 games, including the
addition of nearly 400 live-stream
games on MSGVarsity.com.
Fore was regional leader for
Comcast's Oregon/Southwest
Washington Region two-plus years
before being named to his new
post in California in October. During
his tenure in Oregon/Washington,
the region became a market
to trial new products for Comcast.
In 2011, it won four out of the
seven 'best in class' awards given
out by the West Division president,
including the coveted region of the
year award.
24. LISA WASHA
Regional VP, Midwest
Charter Communications
Best Advice: Be bold, honest,
accurate and humble.
Mentoring and coaching have
been Crowley's mantra. And he
has put action behind his words
since taking the helm of the
Greater Chicago Region this year.
Among his accomplishments:
Overseeing growth in the number
of basic video subscribers and
partnering with Verizon Wireless.
On tap for 2013 is an internal
employee communications
system to keep workers apprised
of company news.
26. DANIEL
RONAYNE
EVP/GM, MSG Networks
Best Advice: The race isn't run
until it's over.
STEVE WEED
CEO, Wave Broadband
Best Advice: Happy employees
create happy customers.
20-year cable vet Rozek is known
for resolving customer service
issues the first time they call. And
we're talking potential calls from
1.2 million customers in
Washington state region. The
result: A positive customer
experience and reduced operating
costs by minimizing transactions.
In January 2012, Comcast
selected Rozek's region as the first
region to roll out joint Verizon
wireless product. Smart thinking.
These three executives led Wave
to a 40% business service growth
this year. And that's just one of the
reasons we named Wave
Broadband as CableFAX's
Independent Operator of the Year.
Their business acumen and
devotion to employee and
customer care has only
strengthened over the years
through savvy financing and smart
acquisitions, all while scuffling with
competitors several times larger.
Washa's responsibilities include
oversight of Charter's operations
throughout the Midwest, leading
a team of more than 2,700
Charter employees throughout
1,100 communities in five states.
Washa's region consistently ranks
at or near the top of Charter's
operational performance metrics,
and she still manages to give

32. JIM GLEASON
President/CEO
NewWave Communications
Best Advice: Never give up!
A co-founder of NewWave in
2003, Gleason continues to lead
the charge in providing TV, broadband
and telephony services to
small and mid-sized populations in
parts of Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas
and Indiana. The company sold its
Kentucky and Tennessee services
to Time Warner Cable last year but
maintains about 80K customers
and is pushing to expand its
presence, most recently with the
purchase of Comcast systems
in southern Illinois and northern
Indiana in January.
Taking a big idea and making it
work for smaller ops is Gessner's
calling card. He and his team
famously created the platform
used by small- and mid-sized
cable ops to authenticate content,
and Gessner then turned over TV
Everywhere's management to the
NCTC so other small operators
could participate.
Ormberg is bringing GCI to the
forefront. After evaluating various
advanced TV user interface
options this year, Ormberg announced
that TiVo would provide
GCI's next-generation wholehome
TV and multiscreen video
solutions, The advanced features
of the TiVo product will allow us
