the pond this summer. But for a
steadily growing audience, BBC
America is just the right cup of
tea year-round. In fact, under
Scannell's watch, the network this
year is building on a strong 2011,
soaring to its best-ever month this
September and best quarter on the
wings of its first original scripted series " Copper " and perennial
supernatural favorite " Doctor Who. " The Doctor Who season
seven premiere was BBC America's highest-rated telecast in its
history, and the network earned its highest-ever ratings in Q3
in both prime and total day. Keep calm and carry on, indeed.

Why Him? BTN's first and only president has proven his
mettle as a head coach. The network increased both ratings
and ad sales by double-digits over the past several years,
and Silverman is developing the strategy to ensure that
growth will continue. On the heels of the successful launch of
BTN2Go in 2011-12, he's focusing on international expansion
and plans to add to BTN's slate of studio and original
programming, which started with the October debut of " The
Journey, Big Ten Football 2012 " to complement the acclaimed
basketball series. Technology is also is also top of mind for
Silverman. Put me in, coach!

cable's David and Goliath
moment last December when
an FCC administrative law judge
ruled in Tennis Channel's favor
in its carriage complaint against
Comcast. Although Comcast is
appealing, the historic decision
has broad implications for tiered
pricing strategies, and could
power the network from an audience
of 34 million to 54 million
in one stroke. He also notched a
broader long-term distribution deal
with Verizon FiOS on the eve of the
Australian Open. With Solomon's
winning business strategy and
confident courtside manner, we
can't help but wonder if 2013 will
be the year Tennis sheds its indie
status and joins a team?
