collaborations with the New York Times, Disney and
others. And he helped launch YouTube 360. More recently,
the former Sony exec supported the worldwide
distribution of YouTube across all connected devices.
Roger Lynch
CEO, Sling TV
DISH
Lynch oversaw the launch of the OTT
TV service Sling TV, which offers more
than 65 live channels for cord-nevers
and cord-cutters seeking a smaller-
and cheaper-bundle. And it's been impressive to
watch. After just a year in business, Sling already
ranks among the top ten subscription OTT video
services by number of subscribers, according to Parks
Associates. Lynch predicts that the " novelty of multiscreen
will disappear " in the future-and content will
become more mobile. " People will expect that their
content will be available on every device they own and
that the content will travel with them, just like their
music. "
Laura Martin
Managing Director; Senior Equity
Analyst, Entertainment & Internet
Needham & Co.
If anyone has their fi nger on the pulse
of the content industry, it's Martin. As
an entertainment and Internet analyst
for Needham & Co., she publishes research on a broad
range of public content companies, from Facebook to
Yahoo to Disney to CBS. She also champions female
entrepreneurs, having co-founded Women Founder's
Network in order to invest and donate money to
women who have founded and/or run start-ups. These
days, she has her eyes on measurement. " We expect
third party measurement of online video to become
much more widely adopted, which should improve
monetization across all platforms, " she says.
Jaime Miles
Group VP, Content Service
& Next Generation
Client Development
Time Warner Cable
Given his tech-savvy background
and expertise, Miles is better known
for being " inside " the video " box " as he helps bring

content to life on multiple screens. One major accomplishment
for Miles and his team was enabling the
launch of Time Warner Cable's fi rst IP-only video trial,
the TWC TV Roku Trial, in New York City. He believes
measurement will be key to video monetization. " IPbased
video delivery allows accurate measurement
of what consumers are viewing in a way that was not
possible with previous technologies, " he says.
Steve Necessary
EVP, Product Development &
Management
Cox Communications
Necessary, the exec in charge of new
development and lifecycle management
for all products across residential
and business portfolios, envisions a much more
integrated multiscreen experience in the coming years.
And the experience is similar across devices, with
accommodations for screen size, remote control and
touch screen. He also envisions uniformity of content
available across platforms. He was promoted to the
position in December after having led the broader
organization in an interim role for several months. How
does he keep his team up-to-date on the changing
multiscreen universe? " By assuming that everything
is subject to change! " he says, adding that " we must
constantly look for and embrace change to stay relevant. "
Billy
Parks
SVP,
Fullscreen Strategic
Content Group
Fullscreen
As leader of Fullscreen's Strategic
Content Group, Parks focuses
on building entertainment franchises for audiences
and brands. One shining moment for Parks was the
creation of " SnapperHero, " the fi rst original scripted
series for Snapchat. It was short listed for a Canned
Branded Content Lion to boot. " If a platform like
Snapchat can grow to approximately 200 million users
in four years, the sky is the limit, " he says. " We can't
be afraid of the change. Instead we have to evolve and
become more nimble and future-focused in identifying
patterns. "
