Griggs leads one of
the most prolific
duos of regional
sports nets, serving
4 million
households in
Northern California,
Nevada, Southern
Oregon and Hawaii.
Collectively, the networks under his purview deliver more
than 600 live sporting events per year, and 1,500 live
studio shows. Among recent highlights, in January,
Comcast and NBCU announced a 10-year partnership with
the San Francisco 49ers and as a part of the partnership,
Comcast SportsNet Bay Area built a new, state-of-the-art
TV studio for gameday broadcasts and other programming.
He balances his professional work with philanthropy. Last
year, he accompanied former San Francisco 49ers' coach
Jim Harbaugh on a service trip to a small town in Peru,
where 60 percent of the population lives in poverty.
Together they built houses, provided food and clothing-
and played a mash-up game of part rugby, part soccer and
part football with the locals. Who won? Everyone.
I watch most programming on this device:
Large HD television. The bigger, the better. That is where
Sports is best.
The biggest innovation in cable over the last year:
TV Everywhere
What's the next big broadband project no one's
talking about yet and why? People are talking about
the X-1 platform, but they should investigate the sports
app further. It is remarkable!
If I had a show on YouTube it would be called...
analogies for life by Ted
Favorite screen: If I can't watch a game at home on my
big screen, I love being able to watch the Warriors games
streamed live on my phone or tablet via the NBC Sports
Live App while walking the streets of San Francisco. Steph
Curry hits a three as I get on a cable car. How cool is that?
The day we get multiplatform measurement is the
day I... celebrate with a nice tall cold one.
Apple iWatch or Rolex? Rolex, I guess, but I'd rather
have a Swatch because I tend to misplace things and I
don't want to lose anything expensive.
If I could interrupt Kanye West just once, I would
tell him... Which team does Kanye West play for?
I wish Congress would just... get along. Don't
compromise your principals, but don't be ideologues
either. C'mon!
Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat?
Twitter, as a follower
My favorite newfound hobby: I'm working on mosaic
art using old wine and beer bottles. The best part is
emptying the bottles.
If Disney hired me to reboot " Star Wars " I would...
further investigate the " Life and Times " of Chewbacca.
My " Real Housewives " catch-phrase is... " Class with
the Countess "
The technology that will most benefit cable over the
next year is: TV Everywhere-we have to figure out a
way to get all sports available on all platforms.

8. CALLING ALL SPORTS
Bill Bridgen
Title: President & GM,
Comcast SportsNet New
England
Years in Cable: 19
Education:
BA, Gettysburg College;
JD, Temple University
School of Law
Best Advice in 7 Words or Less:
Attitude is more important than successes and failures.
While Comcast SportsNet's key programming pillar continues
to be the Boston Celtics, it has also, under Bridgen,
defined itself over the years for New England sports fans
as the " go to " source for all New England sports content.
And talk about your blowouts-in 2014, unique visitors to
CSNNE.com neared 2 million per month up from 40,000
per month back in the fall of 2009. This year, Bridgen will
oversee the third Horizons for Homeless Children Week, a
project very dear to his heart.
Apple iWatch or Rolex? Neither. Who needs a watch
when your phone exceeds the functionality of both a
thousand times over?
If I could interrupt Kanye West just once I would tell
him... Obama was right.
Favorite vacation spot: St. Barts-a bit of Paris in the
Caribbean is nirvana.
Who's on deck for the next celebrity meltdown:
Eddie Murphy, as being a comedic genius comes at a
high price.
Desert island album: Purple Rain by Prince. Prince is
wildly eccentric, but equally talented.
9. THE WINDY SPORTSMAN
Phil Bedella
Title: VP & GM, Comcast SportsNet Chicago
Years in Cable: 16
Education: BA, Illinois State University
Best Advice in 7 Words or Less: Enjoy the journey.
Bedella brings a forward-thinking, never-say-no approach
to his position, which has been infectious to the entire
CSN Chicago staff. The team is determined to live up
to Bedella's expectations as they continue to make
the " impossible " possible. Last year, Bedella delivered
24/7 programming on the network's CSN Plus overflow
channel, which included special alternative version of its
pro game telecasts. A sports enthusiast and avid reader,
Bedella enjoys skiing, scuba diving and bicycle riding.
The day we get multiplatform measurement is the
day I... hope it is set-top box and mobile device true
measurement, and not random survey.
My favorite newfound hobby: Skiing... my family and I
learned to ski in 2014, and we are hooked.
If Disney hired me to reboot " Star Wars " I would...
add a chapter that explores Han Solo's early years and
how he and Chewbacca became partners.
The technology that will most benefit cable over
the next year is... the continued advancements of TV
May 2015
Title: Regional SVP, California Region, Comcast
Years in Cable: 12
Education: BS, United States Military Academy at West
Point; MS, Naval Postgraduate School
Best Advice in 7 Words or Less: Failure is not an option.
Fore is continuing the previous success he had in 2014 by
directing the region to No. 2 in Comcast's internal rankings.
He launched Cloud DVR in the Bay Area, and also the X1
talking Guide to California-not to mention he oversaw the
doubling of speeds for two of California's Xfinity Internet tiers.
Fore's a former Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, and his wife
served in the Navy-so that makes the day of the Army/
Navy football game an interesting one in the Fore home.
11. CHICAGO'S FINEST
John Crowley
Title: SVP, Greater Chicago
Region, Comcast
Years in Cable: 14
Education: BA,
Colby College; MBA,
Southern New
Hampshire U
As leader of one of Comcast's largest regions, Crowley
has achieved many goals. He's increased the number
of Xfinity WiFi hotspots by hundreds of thousands to
750,000, reduced the number of service calls to customers'
homes by more than 6% from the previous year, and
hired the region's first-ever VP, Customer Experience.
As 2015 continues, he'll lead the region in introducing
several new services, as well as upgrades that will help
Comcast continue to expand.
I watch most programming on this device:
My big screen TV in home theater room
Apple iWatch or Rolex? Rolex
Favorite vacation spot: Riviera Maya in Mexico
Desert island album: U2's Greatest Hits
Favorite TV show as a kid: " The Wild Wild West "

10. MARK, " FORE " AND STRIKE!
Henry " Hank " Fore
Everywhere. As we expand program offerings, improve the
authentication model and customize offerings for viewers, TV
Everywhere will continue to change consumer viewing habits.
Favorite vacation spot: It's a tie between the Colorado
Mountains and Cancun, Mexico.
Desert island album: The Eagles' The Complete Greatest
Hits
Favorite TV show as a kid: " M*A*S*H "
My favorite business/motivational book: Drive: The
Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us by Daniel Pink
