at Turner, Sams is a vital part of
the company's executive management
team. She's worn many hats over
the years, but has really hit her stride
overseeing the company's legal matters
worldwide. Those include acquisitions and joint ventures,
production and clearance of content across Turner divisions,
from news to animation. Despite a hectic work schedule,
Sams fi nds time to give back. She is the chair of the board of
directors of Atlanta's High Museum, serves on the governing
board of Atlanta's Woodruff Arts Center, and last year steered
her alma mater Princeton's annual giving committee.

Viacom
A restructuring early in the year
expanded the domain of 30-year
Viacom vet Zarghami, with TV Land
and CMT joining Nickelodeon under
the Kids & Family umbrella. With
changing viewing patterns among the
young keeping her on her toes, she's pushing more content-including
more Gen X-focused programming as part of
the TV Land rebrand-across more platforms, like the launch
of a Noggin app. Ever aware of the importance of staying
ahead of audience trends, under Zarghami's leadership,
Nickelodeon has solidifi ed its commitment to ongoing research
of the newest generation of kids, the post-millennials.

With the stakes for carriage negotiations
higher than ever this year, Denson
remains strident in her efforts to
promote all of Viacom's media brands
across all distribution platforms. It's a
tireless job, but clearly a labor of love.

got folks working to create the next great storyteller who
relates to our youngest preschool viewers, and down the

Keeping Comedy Central at the
forefront of the multiplatform age is
serious business for Ganeless. With
much attention on the debut of new
" Daily Show " host Trevor Noah, she
also led the rollout of the network's
TV Everywhere app, which offers access to full episodes of
Comedy Central series. She sits on the board of the Posse
Foundation, an organization dedicated to identifying and
training youth leaders from urban public high schools. What's
the most important aspect of mentoring? " Making sure the
mentee knows that the bad times, the failures, are just as
important as the good times, " she says.

Harris' most critical role these days
is helping NBCU business leaders
navigate new challenges, including
distribution in the U.S. and globally of
content from the company's fi lm studio,
broadcast networks, cable channels
and digital properties. She is focused on encouraging
diversity within the law fi rms that work with NBCU, encouraging
minority-owned fi rms, but just as importantly pushing
established, larger fi rms to make sure their teams are diverse.
Harris sits on the board of Advocates For Children of New
York to ensure that NYC children with learning challenges get
an appropriate education.
24. Mindy Grossman

HSNi
Grossman has positioned HSNi as
a leader in " boundary-less retail, "
providing customers with seamless
shopping experiences spanning
multiple platforms. While television
and digital sales saw steady growth
this year, the company's mobile sales skyrocketed by 46%
and 17% of mobile shoppers were new customers, validating
Grossman's focus on staying ahead of both retail and
technology trends. Despite a busy schedule, she makes time
to mentor others. " For as much time as I devote to enriching
the lives of others, it is returned to me tenfold. "
