Cablefax The Magazine - November 2015 - 33

Courtney Menzel
SVP, Domestic
Distribution
Discovery
Communications
Menzel has a deep
understanding of the
value found in working
collaboratively with her peers, which is a good thing
since she's responsible for the strategic oversight
of one of cable's largest portfolios. To successfully
sponsor someone in the industry, she feels taking an
extra step is necessary. " Actively helping that person
advance their career, " she says, " is what makes the
real difference. "
Christina Miller
President & GM
Cartoon Network,
Adult Swim &
Boomerang
Miller's arrival as chief of
Cartoon has packed a serious
punch-and we're
not just talking about the reboot of " The Powerpuff
Girls " debuting next year. With a 360-degree strategy
that keeps kids engaged across platforms, the Turner
kids net has experienced strong ratings growth in an
age of drastically shifting viewing habits. Miller lauds
her team as " creative, curious, dynamic, smart,
brave and fun! "
Robyn Miller
SVP, Marketing
Tennis Channel
Miller serves up a steady
stream of cross-partnerships
for Tennis Channel,
in some instances scoring
accounts over much
larger competitors like ESPN and NBC. This year
the network broke previous audience records, and
tournament coverage viewing is on the rise as well.
She also oversaw the launch of digital service Tennis
Channel Plus, which debuted on opening day of the
French Open last year.
Victoria Mink
SVP, Controller &
Principal Accounting
Officer
Cablevision Systems
Mink oversees development
of a dynamic
controller organization
to keep pace with Cablevision's evolving

business model. She has the ability to build
consensus across the organization, despite
competing agendas. " You shouldn't be afraid to
fail, " she says is good mentoring advice. " The
entire cable industry offers great potential for
women, especially as the industry continues to
evolve with a focus on connectivity and customer
experience, " she says.
Jennifer Mirgorod
EVP, Brand
Distribution
Turner Network Sales
Mirgorod was promoted
this year and now
oversees all content
distribution and marketing
initiatives for Turner's 10 domestic networks.
She got right to the business of growing both linear
and digital content distribution, including securing
recent deals with emerging partners such as Sony,
Sling TV, Vessel and Facebook while retaining
and growing relationships with traditional MVPD
partners such as Comcast and DirecTV.
Alison Moore
GM & EVP, TV
Everywhere, Content
Distribution
NBCUniversal
Moore is credited with
advancing NBCU's
portfolio-wide TV
Everywhere initiative over the course of the past
12 months. The epitome of efficiency, she is
energetic and momentum-focused, and feels most
rewarded when she makes an impact. Moore
says the biggest growth area for women in cable
is digital because digital " will continue to drive
change. "
Juliette Morris
EVP, Partner
Marketing &
Communications,
Content Distribution
NBCUniversal
The past year proved to
be one of great success
for Morris as she led her team in the development of
initiatives that played an integral role in reinforcing
the value of the NBCU portfolio as well as supporting
affi liate renewals. Making yourself " available and engaged "
are two important components of successful
mentoring, Morris says.
Jen Neal
EVP, Marketing
E! & Esquire Network
As the marketing mastermind
behind " The Royals, "
Neal has played an
integral role in driving E!
and sister net Esquire's
overall success and momentum in 2015. She also
mentors young women about career development.
" I've been fortunate to have had multiple people help
me, so I feel a responsibility to give back, " Neal says.
Jennifer Khoury Newcomb
SVP, Corporate &
Digital
Communications
Comcast
Newcomb has oversight
of the team responsible
for the creation and
launch of Comcast's corporate website, and she
leads communications around the company's efforts
to transform the customer experience. Additionally,
Newcomb has helped senior women across Comcast
raise their profi les in the industry, in the media and
within the company.
Susane Newell
Former VP,
Programming
NCTC
Cool-headed Newell is
most comfortable behind
the scenes, negotiating
major deals. She left the
National Cable TV Cooperative in February, where
she helped to negotiate deals totaling more than $20
billion. With deal-making in her blood, she is sure to
be a major infl uence in whatever she does.
Suzanne Norman
SVP, Operations
CMT
CMT's top-ranking female
exec, Norman leads
day-to-day operations.
Recent accomplishments
include realigning
CMT within the Viacom Kids and Family Group, and
overseeing growth for the net's digital initiatives.
The key to mentoring, she says, is listening. " It's not
about being quiet, but rather being an active listener
in order to understand the full picture of any given
situation. "
