51. Vincent Cordero
EVP/GM, Fox Deportes
With Cordero at the helm, Fox Deportes
has launched three new sports shows and
a celebrity athlete branding campaign-
and acquired U.S. Spanish language
rights for both the Euro UEFA soccer
tournament and Formula 1. Cordero, the
youngest GM in Univision Chicago history, has been recognized by
NAMIC as a " Next Generation Leader " and by the Hispanic Association
on Corporate Responsibility. He was also part of a team that
received a public service award from the Chicago Board of Elections
for an outstanding Latino voter registration campaign.
52. Karen Wishart
EVP/Chief Legal Officer, TV One
Wishart plays a role in virtually every
major initiative that takes place at TV
One, including serving as chief liaison to
the network's board of managers plus
overseeing the legal department, human
resources and business affairs. She was
an integral part of the series of transactions that led to Radio
One gaining a controlling interest in TV One-a deal that makes
TV One the largest African-American-owned and controlled
cable network. " I'm very proud of the work we have done since
our launch seven years ago providing quality programming that
targets the African-American audience, " she says.
53. Lisa Clark
SVP, Consumer Marketing and Strategy,
National Geographic Networks
Clark supervises marketing functions for
Nat Geo and Nat Geo Wild, and implements
consumer campaigns for the
networks. When it comes to diversity,
she calls for a broader defi nition. " Many
years ago, I let go of the need to count the number of people
in the room who look like me. Leaders in cable should consider
a much broader fi lter than ethnicity and embrace diversity of
thought, culture, style, ideas, etc., which can help us develop
and adapt to new business models more quickly, " she says.
54. Enrique R. Martinez
President/Managing Director, Discovery
Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic
Since the launch of Discovery Networks
Latin America in 2004, Martinez has
been a critical force in building the business.
Most notably, he helped grow the

company from six to 13 networks and increase subs over the past
four years to 153 million, up from 87 million. Martinez applauds the
pay TV industry for " opening the door for career opportunities, in
a broad fashion, and embracing individuals regardless of race or
social economic background. " But it needs to go further, he says,
with more improvement at the senior executive and board levels.
55. Paul Richardson
SVP, Human Resources, ESPN
Richardson's accomplishments as the
head of all ESPN's global HR efforts-
that's about 7,000 employees-include
the creation of top-notch development
programs and enhanced HR service
delivery and company conduct policies.
But his highlight is the launch of ESPN's eight Employee Resource
groups, which focus on African American, Latino, Asian,
LGBT, women, young professionals, families and employees with
ability challenges within the company. Each group has become,
" a place where leaders are developed, sensitive topics can be
fully discussed, our rich diversity can be celebrated and smart
business ideas can be presented and pursued, " he says.
56. Enzo Francescoli
Founder/CEO, Gol TV
Francescoli is walking the walk-literally.
Not only has he helped bring Gol TV to
13 million homes, but he's also quite
the soccer, ahem... futbol, player. In
fact, he's on Pelé's list on the best 100
players in the world. " Recently, when I
was informed that close to 70,000 Barcelona fans fi lled the Sun
Life Stadium in Miami, I was proud to know that Gol TV was the
fi rst to bring Spain's La Liga to the United States and to millions
of homes in this territory, allowing the sport to be seen and for
many to follow, " he says.
57. Michael Armstrong
SVP/GM, BET International
Armstrong oversees the strategy
and operations of BET's international
markets, which develops BET-branded
channels and programming, licensing,
mobile and broadband platforms. " The
day that me and the team launched
BETI, I was lucky enough to stand on stage with our Chairman
and CEO, Debra Lee, and Alicia Keys to bring BET Networks
to the world, " he says. Additionally, he was tapped this April
to develop new international channels for Paramount Pictures.
Armstrong has a spot on NAMIC's national board and the
