THE INFLUENTIALS
Philip Nutsugah
VP, Product
Development &
Management, Data &
Voice Products, Cox
Communications
Nutsugah, who manages
Cox's product
lines for broadband, home automation
and more, has helped increase Cox's
broadband speeds across the company's
nationwide markets. He was also integral
to securing a partnership with Sunnyside
Unified School District and Connect2Compete,
Cox's low-income Internet service.
" The number of devices connected
and using the Internet is exploding, which
represents both new business opportunities
as well as a challenge in meeting
new expectations of customer service, "
he says. Nutsugah is also a board
member of Camp Twin Lakes, an Atlantabased
nonprofit organization dedicated
to improving the lives of children with
disabilities, and he's active with Cox's
Corporate Diversity & Inclusion Council
as well as the company's Enterprises
Mentoring Program.
Amalia O'Sullivan
VP, Xfinity Internet
Product,
Communications, Data
and Mobility,
Comcast Cable
O'Sullivan has managed
a number of
integral projects during the past year,
including Comcast's Xfinity network and
the deployment of more than 3 million
hotspots. As far as she's concerned, that's
just the beginning. Under her leadership,
the network will reach 8 million hotspots
by the end of this year, covering 19 of the
country's 30 largest cities with fast and
wireless Internet access. O'Sullivan also
managed the national rollout of Comcast's
Xfinity Internet speed increases in which
Comcast doubled the speeds of its two
fastest speed tiers, Blast! and Extreme
150, and increased the speed of the Performance
Tier at no additional cost.
Michael Parker
VP, Operations,
Comcast Cable
Under Parker's leadership,
the Greater Chicago
Region operations
team has improved the
customer experience
while also meeting its expense targets for
the past three years. Parker and his teams
continue to focus on customer satisfaction,
working to deliver on Comcast's lofty
goals. As he looks to the future, Parker
stays in contact with high potential leaders
who have worked for him and progressed
in their own professional endeavors. He's
helped many young leaders successfully
navigate and grow their careers.
Leslie Pearce
VP, Sales/Retention
Operations,
Comcast Cable
Pearce has created
tactical plans to optimize
call center efficiencies
including work
force management and cloud routing.
She's led the development and deployment
of a new inbound sales compensation
plan for the Central Division while
leading efforts to structure real time
reporting across the inbound call center
teams. Meanwhile, Pearce continues to
drive operational efficiencies, leveraging
technology to mitigate costs and drive
incremental sales including cloud-based
routing. Pearce is also a Trustee for
Whitefield Academy, a former board
member of Families First and a recipient
of the Board of Directors Network Award.
Bret Perkins
VP, External Affairs,
Comcast Corp.
Perkins is responsible
for the government
affairs team in Philadelphia,
as well as the
company's outreach
efforts to third party groups. He has served
as an integral leader in launching and
expanding the company's Internet Essentials
program, which provides low-income
families high-speed Internet service for
less than $10 a month. Comcast has connected
1.2 million Americans, or 300,000
families, to the power of the Internet in
their homes. Perkins believes, however,
that his job is far from finished. " As the
largest Internet service provider in the nation,
the digital divide is something we see
firsthand every day, " he has said.
Tina Perry
EVP, Business and
Legal Affairs, OWN:
The Oprah Winfrey
Network
Brokering deals to bring
original programming
and talent to OWN has
helped the network grow. Perry oversees
all of the network's new scripted programming
deals, including two TV movies, and
will play a vital role in OWN's expanding
slate of e-Course business. She says
digital distribution will only increase in importance
in the cable world: " The industry
has only scratched the surface on how
digital connectivity will drive consumers'
relationship with content in the future. "
Indrajit Ponnambalam
Group VP, Finance for
Residential Revenue and
Subscriber Analytics,
Time Warner Cable
With the Comcast-TWC
merger on the horizon,
we're guessing Ponnambalam
will find innovative ways analytics
can make the transition more fluid.
" The availability of big data and analytics
tools continues to grow in importance in
the cable industry, " Ponnambalam says.
" The increasing insights that are available
will help almost all functional areas
improve how they execute their jobs.
Also, knowing how to consolidate massive
amounts of data into manageable,
insightful observations for management
is a critical skill that will only grow in
importance in the years to come. "
