Quigley's job is forwardthinking,
often calling for
him to make decisions on
digital strategies reaching
many years into the future.
Because of this, he's a big
outside-the-box thinker on
a daily basis when working
with the networks and technology
partners to strategize
on the digital distribution
plans for the company.
According to Quigley, the
biggest innovation for Turner
this year is the launch of
CNNx, a next-generation
app that provides users
more control over their news
experience. It marks a major
milestone in the evolution
of CNN and will redefine the
news experience for users
for years to come, he says.
This year, itaas president/CEO
Vibha Rustagi has focused on
how best to " fuel " innovation
and bring advanced technologies,
additional engineering
and development capabilities
to support customers' business
strategies. " Technology
is an enabler. As a result,
cable companies are not as
insular as in the past. They
look for ways to bring diverse
perspectives, thinking, and
solutions-whether it is going
to different geographic regions
or different industries-
to find talent and innovative
thinking, " she says. Vibha has
had quite a few mentors since
she joined the industry 24
years ago. " I look for mentors
who are very direct in their
communications and will
tell me when I need to take
another path or share with me
their experience, " she says.
Since a mentor steered Soto
into the area of technology
security, she has been
committed to protecting
Comcast's infrastructure,
tools and employees, especially
in light of a multitude
of threats poised against
multinational companies.
This past spring, she helped
establish the Center of
Excellence for Security Innovation
(CSI) at The University
of Connecticut. Her ideal job
candidate? Someone with
strong business acumen,
who's willing to take risks,
learn new things and bring
innovative ideas to the table.
A 25-year IT veteran and 20year
Cisco executive, Talreja
has extensive experience
in general management,
strategy consulting and operations,
and she has helped
guide Cisco business teams
through many inflection
points. In 2009, she ran and
launched the Virtual Computing
Environment (VCE) coalition.
During her leadership,
the VblockTM Infrastructure
Platforms-the jointly developed
VCE solution-helped
propel VCE to $10 million in
business in just four months,
along with a pipeline of $100
million in deals.
