Not only is Wilson-Scott one of Comcast's
top female executives, she's
instrumental in Comcast NBCUniversal's

responsibility initiatives. In April, the annual Comcast Cares
Day saw 105,000 corporate volunteers contribute more
than 600,000 hours of service to work 1,000-plus projects
across the globe. Wilson-Scott is always fi nding creative new
ways to use the company's media and technology to benefi t
struggling communities. As a mentor, she says it's important
to share failures as well as successes because vulnerabilities
make people more relatable. Her advice to mentees: " Pursue
mentors that bring entirely different perspectives than you
might bring-not ones that will always agree with you. "

Showtime, and recently she implemented
company-wide management
training programs. Her program that
has senior leadership speak with employees over breakfast
or lunch helps encourage mentorship. " Mentoring is a delicate
relationship, " she says. " The most effective strategies
are the sincere desire to help a more junior person succeed
and be totally honest with them. " Casanas also is on the front
lines of the hiring process, giving her the opportunity to foster
diversity at the company. Outside the offi ce, she is committed
to causes that help children and senior citizens.
