Remember when Altice wasn't a huge name in the US cable market? Neither
do we. Since the global cable, telecom and media company made its stateside
debut in 2015 with the acquisition of Suddenlink followed by the purchase in
2016 of Cablevision, Goei has been sitting atop a growing empire that currently
serves approximately 4.9 million customers across 21 states. And it's
been full-speed ahead. In less than two years, the company more than tripled
speeds across its Optimum footprint and expanded the areas where it offers
1 gigabit speeds in Suddenlink territories. Altice is on track with its ambitious
fi ve-year plan to deliver fi ber to the home across its entire footprint, and Goei
recently opened discussions with select VOD services to integrate their content into the Altice pay-TV service. But it's not
just about infrastructure advances. Under Goei's leadership, Altice is a prime example of an intrinsically global media company
succeeding in serving the increasingly diverse American audience. Regarding diversity, Goei says, " We should not be
complacent on this point, as our willingness to be open, engaged and respectful of each other will lead to success on every
level-for employees, customers and partners. "
2. Debra Lee

A 30-year BET veteran, Lee is fi ercely dedicated to producing quality programming
that refl ects the issues within the African American community. She's
responsible for hits like " Being Mary Jane, " " Real Husbands of Hollywood " and
the miniseries " The Book of Negroes. " But it doesn't end there. This past year
the biopic miniseries " The New Edition Story " landed 29 million total viewers
during its premiere week. Naturally, her career has brought forth accolades-
most recently an award at the 2017 Grammy Salute to Industry Icons for her
major contributions to American music and culture through BET. She is the
fi rst woman to receive this honor. Lee believes the industry has work to do on
the diversity front at the C-suite level. Her solution entails supporting younger
executives: " To see real change it's critical to start that process early at the
staff level by ensuring there is a three- to fi ve-year pipeline for younger executives. I know there are a lot of young, talented
and dynamic executives who only need the opportunity and exposure. "
3. Cesar Conde

Conde remains at the top by evolving as the world turns. His expertise at
developing content, branding, marketing and super-serving viewers has been
a beacon as NBCU broadens its audience reach. As viewers of Telemundo can
attest, what the network today bills as a telenovela is not your grandmother's
soap opera anymore. After years of airing a specifi c format (telenovelas had a
beginning, middle and an end), Telemundo has taken a new approach, upping
production values and adding additional seasons to programs, calling these
new shows " super series. " Content has changed, too, as stories involve immigration
and living in major US cities like L.A. and NY. " Latinos are rapidly
evolving, and Telemundo is evolving with them to create high quality content
in Spanish, across all platforms, " Conde says.
