LiveData PeriOp Manager provides start-to-finish surgical workflow enhancement:
PeriOp Planner™: Improves scheduling workflow by visually coordinating the patient's steps from first
referral through preparation to scheduling. Patients will be better prepared for surgery, and hospital and
clinical schedulers can confidently schedule surgical cases.
Patient Flow™ and Family Waiting Board™/Mobile Messenger: Integrates the patient check-in and
check-out process into the automated perioperative workflow, enabling patient status and location to be
tracked and viewed by clinical teams and the patient's family.
PreOp Board™: Offers an operational view of patients being prepared for surgery, including operating
room readiness. For each case, PreOp Board displays patient/procedure/staff and operating room status
and patient preoperative care milestones.
OR-Dashboard™ with Active Time Out®: integrates patient information from the EHR, anesthesia systems,
and physiological monitoring devices to provide a continuously updated, real-time view of the surgical
case from OR setup through the surgical procedure to OR clean. On a large screen in the operating room,
OR-Dashboard guides the team through case workflow. A handheld clicker enables 1) untethered real-time
capture of milestones and 2) a patent-pending electronic surgical safety checklist recognized by the Joint
Commission as a best practice.
OR-Schedule Board™: Provides a dynamic real-time view of the day's surgical caseload that automatically
adjusts and displays case start and end times throughout the day using real-time case workflow
monitoring.
PeriOp Manager Analytics™: Automatically collects and organizes detailed real-time data from Planner
and Display Boards to enable clinicians and administrators to uncover, identify, and target opportunities
to improve performance.

Q: What should perioperative
leaders be aware of when it comes
to surgical workflow efficiency?
First, hospitals typically limit surgical practices'
access to the centralized scheduling
system for their surgeons' block times.
While this policy can certainly safeguard
patient data, it also hides open slots that
the scheduler could have booked...had
they known it was available. Using advanced
fine-grained access control, LiveData's
solution enables healthcare facilities

to protect patient data. It enables private
practice schedulers to claim previously hidden
opportunities to schedule their cases.
Secondly, hospitals need to recognize
the impermanence of consultant-led efficiency
initiatives. Often, when one element
of your operations changes -for example,
if you close an OR for renovation-
the entire approach becomes ineffective
without engaging with the consultant.
Q: What are clients most surprised
to learn about after they've started
working with LiveData's innovative
technology?
Clients are often surprised at how a seemWe

visibility. The hypothesis was that if we
were to show the surgeons and their office
schedulers where the hospital has available
OR time (outside of that surgeon's
block time), that would then result in surgeons
utilizing that open time, thereby increasing
surgical case volume and subsequent
revenues and margin to the hospital.
Our hypothesis proved true; in just 5
months, the hospital added 70 cases directly
resulting in $1,124,871 in additional
revenue and $726,452 in additional margin
from those additional surgical cases.
Q: What is the team most proud of,
and what is next for LiveData?
We currently support over 80 Veterans Affairs
hospitals in the United States. We're
proud to be playing a role in increasing access
to surgery for our nation's Veterans
while ensuring their safety with our patented
Active Time Out® checklist system.
We will continue to expand into other
service lines of the hospital that can benefit
from our unique approach to bringing
added safety and efficiency to the perioperative
environment. For example, we
recently updated LiveData PeriOp Manager
to include maternity care rooms. We will
update the solution to serve other procedural
areas (eg, cardiac cath, endoscopy,
radiology, etc). n
