fter opening just five years ago, Global Aviation Technologies is expanding, recently doubling its staff, reaching into worldwide markets, and now doubling its space in Wichita, Kan. For husband and wife founders Linwood “Woody” and Candace Cottner, it’s a sure sign that their young business is booming. “We expect even more growth in the year to come,” said Woody, who credits an increase in contracts, a large wire harness project and positive trends in the aviation industry for Global Aviation Technologies’ expansion. The company, which provides systems integration and certification and also manufactures wiring harnesses and subassemblies for out-of-production aircraft, recently received Federal Aviation Administration certification for the Concorde Battery RG-145-2 Emergency Battery; parts manufacturing approval for the RG-145-2 Emergency Battery installation kit for the Learjet 40/45 aircraft; and completed the design for its LED Caution Advisory and Warning Annunciaavionics news
tor Panel solution for the Bombardier DASH 8. “We are gaining a large amount of interest in these innovative products from all over the world,” Woody said. “On the manufacturing side of our business, we have recently accepted a project for complete nose-to-tail wire harness manufacturing for a fleet of remanufactured bizjets.” With its FAA-certified PMA facility and quality assurance program certified to AS9100b and ISO9001:2008 standards, Global Aviation Technologies is able to provide support for business, commercial, government and military customers who require specialized electrical modification. “We have large and small customers, private and government,” Woody said. “We are truly all over the board. We are currently working with a large flight operator. We are working for a small privately-owned company for a very unique aircraft modification. We are working on a huge, record-making modification with a private mod shop and charter company. We are working globally on a new panel for international op-
