Orlando Aircraft Services Helps Create Miracle for Missionary Family

ast winter, when a producer from ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” called, Orlando Aircraft Services performed miraculously. Nine of the aircraft service center’s 16 employees volunteered their time, working around the clock to rewire and install a brand new Garmin panel in a 1970 Cessna Skymaster in just four days – a task that typically takes three to four weeks.

The show was rebuilding the family home of Air Mobile Ministries founders Joe and Cindy Hurston of Cocoa, Fla. For more than 25 years, the couple flew their 40-year-old Cessna to disasters around the world, delivering water purifiers, medical supplies and food to people in need. While away on a mission, a pipe broke, flooding and destroying their entire home. The Hurston family, including Joe, Cindy and their children, were living in their damaged home, using the same water purifying system they had delivered to Haiti and 37 other countries worldwide. “When the show producers called about the project, I knew exactly who they were talking about; he’s our customer,” said
