SAM’s two-screen display is extremely easy for pilots to read, even at a glance. It provides a separate screen for aircraft attitude, with airspeed and altitude on another.” The MD302 Standby Attitude Module is designed to interface seamlessly with most primary avionics systems and is capable of synchronizing data, such as barometric pressures from standard ARINC outputs. Elliott Aviation Elliott Aviation announced it has launched a supplemental type certification program for Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics’ MD302 Standby Attitude Module as part of its Garmin G1000 avionics upgrade in King Air aircraft. The company expects to receive FAA certification for the MD302 SAM installation by the end of 2012. SAM will become the new standard for future G1000 installations at Elliott Aviation’s facilities at Quad City International Airport and Des Moines International Airport. According to the company, Elliott Aviation has completed a total of 75 G1000 retrofit installations in King Air C90A/B/GT, 200/ B200 and 300/350 aircraft to date. “Elliott Aviation is always on the lookout for new systems that enhance the value of owners’ aircraft and improve pilot situational awareness for safer flying,” said Mark Wilken, Elliott Aviation director of avionics sales and product development. “Adding SAM to the G1000 avionics suite extends our leadership in providing innovative solutions for aircraft operators.” In addition, the company recently created an aftermarket sales department and named Joe Stanley to lead the department as aftermarket avionics sales manager.

Jeppesen Jeppesen introduced Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators. According to the company, the Web-based flight planning solution features an enhanced user experience and allows worldwide flight plans to be designed and filed in less than one minute. “Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators revolutionizes the flight planning process and offers a choice for delivery through our mobile and PC-based solutions,” said Tim

Huegel, director of Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Eliminating slow load times and multiple-step data entry processes, Jeppesen FlitePlan Online was created in concert with pilot user experience data to build a solution that simplifies flight planning through a clean design interface that is intuitive to use by pilots.” The new Jeppesen FlitePlan Online solution for business aviation operators is accessible through the MyJeppesen.com Web portal, providing a single sign-on, one-stop experience for managing critical information, from install management to Jeppesen flight planning and other product access. Jeppesen FlitePlan Online streamlines the flight planning process to enable increased fuel efficiency and reduced costs while enhancing situational awareness. The solution ensures that critical values, such as maximum takeoff weight, are within acceptable limits and considers all aspects of weather and aircraft performance data using proven models. Planned routes are overlaid on graphical current and forecast weather to increase situational awareness. Rockwell Collins Rockwell Collins announced its new Skybox will help business jet travelers take advantage of an onboard Apple iTunes library to share movies, TV shows and music wirelessly and on demand. “Skybox extends the capability of your business jet cabin system by integrating Apple’s magic,” said Dave Austin, vice president and general manager, cabin systems for Rockwell Collins. According to the company, with 1 terabyte of onboard storage capacity, Skybox is the first airworthy solution to securely stream
