GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP.’s wide-cabin, high-speed G150 experienced two significant milestones recently: the fleet surpassed 100,000 flight hours and the 100th G150 rolled off the initial-phase production line, nearly 6 1/2 years after the aircraft’s original entry-into-service. “With the longest range at the fastest speed, an advanced avionics suite and a comfortable cabin, the G150 is a leader in its mid-sized cabin aircraft category,” said STAN DIXON, Gulfstream vice president, mid-cabin programs. “It has a dispatch reliability rate of 99.88 percent and an availability rate of 92.59 percent.” When the G150 entered service in 2006, it was the first Gulfstream business jet certified by the Federal Aviation Administration for Stage 4, the industry’s most stringent noise standards. All Gulfstream current production aircraft are Stage 4 compliant. The G150 also is certified to meet the steep approach landing criteria at London City Airport. With 95 aircraft in service, the fleet has flown more than 100,000 flight hours and achieved more than 72,000 landings. In addition, the aircraft is certified in 11 countries and has accomplished 11 city-pair speed records, most recently Gander, Canada, to Geneva, Switzerland, in five hours and seven minutes. Powered by two fuel-efficient Honeywell TFE731-40AR engines, the G150 has a range of 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km). received FAA approval of an STC for the installation of a THRANE & THRANE AVIATOR 200 SwiftBroadband system with Wi-Fi for installation in the Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. model PC-12/45/47/47E aircraft. According to Thrane & Thrane, the AVIATOR 200 SwiftBroadband satellite communication system is the lightest, most compact airborne broadband solution on the market. It simultaneously provides ramp to altitude worldwide data and voice. The AVIATOR 200 system allows a range of in-flight capability including: • Email. • Internet browsing. • Smartphone connectivity. • One AMBE2 voice channel. The AVIATOR 200 provides a cabin LAN network for laptops, tablets and smartphones via Wi-Fi and three hardware Ethernet connections. Multiple users can access this broadband system at speeds up to 200 kilobytes per second.
