sophisticated autopilot and communications systems, including RVSM-equipped aircraft. “Our avionics technicians travel to wherever the customer is, coordinating field services with their preferred AMO,” MacKenzie said. “We come to you. DAVWIRE completes the electrical servicing while the aircraft is already in the shop for other procedures.” To support its field service, DAVWIRE created a new bench facility for detailed testing and repairs at its head office near London International Airport. The company equipped its technicians with the proper ramp gear to provide inspection and diagnostic services anywhere an aircraft is located. Whether he’s adding new services or opening new markets, MacKenzie draws on his wealth of experience to build his business and satisfy customers. MacKenzie began his 30-plus years in aviation maintaining firefighting aircraft, including modified World War II PBY Cansos and executive jets. He holds a degree in aviation maintenance technologyavionics, a private pilot’s license and a master’s in business administration. Throughout the years, MacKenzie has spent time training Peruvian Air Force technicians in Lima; troubleshooting search and rescue aircraft based in the Rocky Mountains; helping design and certify an all-composite training aircraft; and overseeing repair and overhaul facilities supporting worldwide militaries. He uses the acquired experience and skill to press out and find new ways to bring the company’s wiring capabilities to more people, places, businesses, governments

and militaries around the world. Now with his new AMO, MacKenzie has found a way to bring this expertise to even more aircraft owner-operators near London, Ontario. “We’ve talked to many AMOs who provide complementary services, and they are excited about our field capabilities,” MacKenzie said. “By bringing an avionics capability to these established shops, aircraft owners will have access to a one-stop service for all of their re-certifications and upgrades. Customers benefit by saving the expense and downtime of taking their aircraft to separate locations for mandatory maintenance. Pilots and fleet owners are eager to move up to glass cockpit technology, with more powerful instruments presented on more user-friendly displays. We’re here to help them make the transition simpler, more convenient and less costly.” q
