BendixKing by Honeywell
From the affordable KA 134 to the
top-line KMA 30, this avionics pioneer
offers something for all panel-mounted
applications - not including those integrated into Honeywell's integrated avionics packages.
The KA 134 lacks a marker-beacon
receiver - it can be paired with the KR
22 receiver to fulfill that function - but
offers a host of other attractive features.
It measures a mere 1 inch tall to preserve
precious cockpit space, and its 100 percent solid-state circuitry can control as
many as five receivers and three transceivers, all through easy push-button
controls.
Other KA 134 features include an
internal audio amplifier to drive cabin
speakers, an intercom and audio isolation and functions.
The push-button simplicity also complements the flexible audio control right
off the company's KMA 24 and KMA
24H systems, each a self-contained,
all solid-state unit measuring only 1.3
inches high with a "slant top" package
that makes it suitable for installing in the
top slot of an instrument panel.
The KMA 24 controls as many as
three transceivers and six receivers,
including the integral marker-beacon
receiver with automatically dimming
three-light presentation.
The KMA 24H controls up to five
transceivers and five receivers, or four

transceivers and six receivers - but
replaces the internal marker beacon
receiver with an intercom for unprecedented flexibility. The intercom features
capability for hot mic, voice activation
(VOX) or keyed activation of up to five
intercom stations. In hot mic operation,
all intercom microphones remain active
at all times whether the operator is talking on intercom or not. Voice-activated
operation has the microphone active
only when the operator begins to talk.
In keyed operation, the operator may
depress a separate intercom switch to
activate the microphone for intercom
usage.
Finally, the top-line KMA 30 offers a
plug-and-play package to easily replace
older, less-sophisticated BendixKing
audio panels with one sporting features

like wireless, Bluetooth music and
phone (with full duplex cellular telephone capability), flexible audio distribution, soft-muting monitor mode,
a 30-second digital recorder, voice
annunciated menus and the company's
Intelligent Squelch technology. For
