D.L.S. Electronic Systems
D.L.S. ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS announced its expansion of in-house MIL STD
810 and DO-160 environmental testing services. The company said it has extended
its capabilities to include sand and dust testing, as well as vibration and shock
testing. It also tests for temperature, humidity, altitude, acceleration and salt spray.
The company is a full-service compliance laboratory for military, aerospace and
avionics testing.

Aspen Avionics
recently
announced its EA100 autopilot adapter
is now capable of emulating the Century
52D66, 52D67, 52D166 and 52D167
attitude indicators. According to the
company, the EA100 is now compatible
with all attitude-based Century IIB, III
and IV autopilots, as well as the Piper
Altimatic-branded autopilots. This new
certification is in addition to the Century
21, 31, 41, 2000 and 4000 certification
announced in October 2013.
"The EA100 provides superior digital
attitude information and extends the life
of legacy autopilot systems," said MARK
FERRARI, vice president of sales and
customer support. "This integration will
greatly increase the utility of the Aspen
customer's avionics investment far into
the future."

SCOTT NOACK regional sales manager,
The GENERAL AVIATION MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION and Build A
Plane, a nonprofit organization that encourages aviation and aerospace education,
are partnering for a second year to promote science, technology, engineering and
math education in high schools across the United States through an aviation design
competition.
The winning high school will receive an all-expenses-paid, two-week trip for four
students, one teacher and one chaperone to help build a Glasair Sportsman aircraft
in June. Judges from GAMA will select the winning school.
