them grow from their own life lessons, both inside and outside the company. He continually strives to put the right team
together who have, in his words, "an incredible passion to
serve the customer."
Currently, Banyan Air Service is composed of six departments. The first is a 24-hour line service that includes ground
support and catering. Next is aircraft maintenance with a specialty in turboprops and business
jets. Banyan uniquely is not only
an FAA-approved repair station,
but it has approval authorization for Venezuela, Brazil, Chile,
Argentina and Colombia.
"With that approval, we can
work on those countries' aircraft," he said. "And when they
return to their home countries,
they don't have to be reinspected.

since these international approvals
come with much paperwork, audits and inspections."
Avionics service and installation is the third department.
"We're a factory-authorized service center for all the avionics
manufacturers in business aircraft," he said. "What makes us
unique is we have a 20,000-foot hangar with 20 employees
just to work on avionics."
Parts solutions, primarily for charter companies, flight
schools and corporate flight departments, is the fourth
department; aircraft sales is the fifth. The final department
is Banyan's pilot shop. While this may bring to mind a few
dusty headsets and out-of-date books sitting in a glass case,
it couldn't be further from the truth. Banyan's pilot shop is
designed as an interactive experience, including a simulator, and there are displays where everything is meant to be
touched and tried.
When talking about his business, Campion often uses the
word experience, which is what he had in mind when he built
Banyan. "We want to show we're not just an FBO," Campion
said. "The lobby has a 1,000-gallon saltwater fish tank, palm
trees and a waterfall. Complementing the Key West look of
the terminal is the Jet Café, a Miami Beach feel, with a perfect view of the ramp. The Jet Café is open for breakfast and
lunch and hosts special events.
Creating the Banyan experience is important to Campion.

He recognizes there are many customers who live closer
to other airports in Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Fort
Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Miami, yet still choose
Banyan. As for the future, Campion wants to continue to
increase the company's capabilities. Recently, Falcons and
Challengers were added to its repair station license, and he
wants to continue this expansion. In the long term, Campion
hopes to expand to other area airports. "We want to expand our
footprint in Florida," he said.
Whatever the future brings, Campion said his team will
accomplish great things "by
pushing ourselves and growing beyond what we thought
we could do." Personally, he
enjoys making a fundamental
difference in someone's life
by having them complete
something they didn't think
they could do. "I don't want
someone to be just a Learjet
mechanic," he explained.
"I want them to be the best

Learjet mechanic, and then I
want that person to go out and
find a young person to mentor." Each new teammate has
gone through five interviews so they fully understand the
company and what's expected of them.
Campion said he learned the value of perseverance from his
parents. To honor them, he said it is important to contribute to
the community we serve. He called profit "applause from the
customer, but you should take the profit and re-invest it in communities near and far."
As a result, Banyan supports a foster children organization,
and Banyan teammates volunteer to repair foster homes.
Along with his wife of 25 years, Sueanne, Campion
remains active in the rural hospital in Nigeria, which his parents started. He is the project leader partnering with missions,
businesses and individuals in the complete rebuild, re-equipping and revitalization of Egbe Hospital. Banyan employees
have participated in the Nigeria trips on their own time to
assist with roofing, plumbing and construction.
With his strong Christian faith, Campion is growing the
serving culture of the company. "We do our jobs efficiently
and well so we can turn around and help others," he said.
"It's like living a dream." q
