What do you like best
about your job?
Aviation is such a unique
industry, and it is different
every day. I can do the same
installation in the same aircraft
model, but it's never the same
whether you're quoting or
installing that upgrade. I enjoy
being at the forefront of the
technology and providing
the latest upgrade options to
customers. My job is exciting
and rewarding. I enjoy spending
time with customers providing a
set of solutions, educating them
on all options and assisting
them to decide what's best
for their needs. We have great
people in this industry, and I
appreciate being able to lean
on what they know; there is so
much knowledge, it's refreshing.

Do you work in Cleveland?
No, I'm based in Atlanta; it's an airline
hub, and I can get anywhere directly
from Atlanta.

What is the corporate
culture at Constant?
It is such a family atmosphere, which
is one of the main reasons I came to
Constant. The people are awesome.
Stephen Maiden (Constant Aviation
president) has instilled a culture that
is the foundation of our success.
Everyone is always willing to pitch in to

help regardless if it falls outside their
day-to-day responsibilities. I love my
job, and I am lucky to be a part of the
organization.

When you're not working,
what are you doing?
Two of my hobbies I enjoy the most
is practicing golf or playing drums
at the house. When I was younger, I
found myself working on and tinkering
with cars all the time. That interest in
cars continued into adulthood, and
now I have a BMW 3 series car with
performance enhancements. I mostly
use it for traveling to see my parents
in Florida.

Did you grow up
in Florida?
Until I was 13 years old, we lived in
New York - in Vestal, near Binghamton.
I have two older brothers, and I grew
up watching them work on cars and
woodworking. Those exposures led
me to become a hands-on person who
enjoyed taking things apart and putting
them back together. I knew early on I
wanted to do something mechanical.
During my high school drafting class,
I was convinced I wanted to be an
architect. My parents guided me to
not be so narrow minded and look at
all options. My friend's dad worked for
Delta, and he gave me a tour through
the maintenance facility. I realized that
is where I wanted to be. It felt right,
and I could see myself thriving in that
environment. I toured several schools in

Alabama and Georgia before selecting
Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach. I still
believe Embry-Riddle is one of the best
aviation schools in the country. I obtained
an A&P and a bachelor's degree in
aviation maintenance technology.

What else do you enjoy?
I enjoy going to professional sporting
events; my favorites are baseball,
hockey and football. I try to attend as
many Atlanta Braves games as I can.
I am looking forward to seeing the
new stadium being built in northwest
Atlanta. I also am a wine enthusiast and
have always wanted to experience Napa
Valley. This past December, I was able to
make that happen with my girlfriend. I
met her four years ago while I was on a
trip to Savannah. She was in town for a
bakery convention.

What does the
future hold?
I believe the aftermarket upgrade
business shows promise. When the
economy changed in 2008, there was
a shift from people buying new aircraft
to purchasing pre-owned aircraft and
upgrading them. I believe we have
many more years ahead for upgrading
used airplanes. An owner can put in
thousands of dollars and still be below
the cost of buying new. I see this trend
for at least five more years. q
