involved in the project, Woodland
Aviation does its best to prevent logistics headaches. If work must be
performed at another facility, painting for example, then company pilots
are used. Pelfrey said this "makes airplane moving invisible to the client."
To make these collaborative efforts
work, the company must dedicate
time and effort to both communication and timeline development. Once
developed, the timeline becomes the
driving force for the project. The
timeline includes the entire scope of
work, including pilot training. A paper version is taped to the airframe,
and simplified versions are sent to the
customer.
If Woodland Aviation turns from a
top-tier collaborator, then often times
it's the result of the supplier not being able to meet the timeline. Putting
effort into communication and timelines allows Pelfrey to claim, "When
we quote a job and nothing is added,
the price will be what we said it was."
Woodland Aviation is willing to
fly out of state to view an airplane so
there will be no surprises that could
disappoint a client. Coelho stated that
even in challenging economic times,
customers "are more than willing to
spend the extra money to do it right.
Being able to deliver that higher level
of service and support is what makes
us tick."
