" The customer had the opportunity to ride in a larger
aircraft and noticed that it was equipped with an electric
pocket door in the forward cabin, a feature that was
extremely appealing to him" , said T O N Y B A I L E Y , president and chief operating officer of Spirit Aeronautics.
"After quite a bit of research, we could not find where
an electric cabin door had ever been installed in a
Challenger 604, so we started looking at other aircraft
like the Bombardier Global 5000. That led us to Steecon
Inc., which is a leader in aircraft cabin doors including
electrically actuated forward cabin doors for the Global
5000 aircraft. Steecon provided a door mechanism that
met all customer expectations."

N O R T H - S C O U T A V I A T I O N of Kirksville, Missouri,
celebrated its grand opening at the Kirksville Regional
Airport. The company is owned by the husband and wife
team of J O N A N D C I N D Y M C N A Y , and it serves as
an aviation and avionics repair and maintenance shop
certified to work on single- and light twin-engine aircraft.

A V I D Y N E announced that a new version of its IFDSeries FMS/GPS/NAV/COM iPad Application is now
available on the Apple iTunes App Store. The updated
iPad App provides fully-interactive, free-play demonstration capability for the new IFD440, as well as adding new
IFD540 functionality that is representative of Avidyne's
soon-to-be-certified Release 10.1 software.

R10.1 software release to the iPad Demo Sim," said
