APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

For years, the AEA has been working to recruit and promote the avionics trades through
outreach and education. Now, the AEA enters the next phase by developing and promoting
apprenticeship programs for both the avionics technicians and aircraft mechanics that
meets the regulatory requirements. This session will discuss many questions you have about
the recruitment, training and documentation of an acceptable apprenticeship program.
ASTM'S COMPASS
1-hour session
The AEA has negotiated a contract to bring all of the ASTM aviation standards to the
repair station members that need the standards for the continuing airworthiness of
the general aviation fleet from light-sport aircraft to the new Part 23 as well as the
foundational maintenance of electrical wire interconnect systems for the legacy GA
fleet. This session will educate the membership on how to navigate, locate and use
the ASTM electronic standards library called Compass.
